I liked the History channel better when they had shows about history.

I finally gave up and “cut the cord” about three years ago, because History Channel stopped showing history, TLC stopped showing anything educational, BBC America wasn’t showing many BBC shows, Weather Channel started showing movies and documentaries, Discovery started showing too many “reality shows”, Science Channel turned into the “How It’s Made” channel, etc. Most nights the only channels with anything good to watch on were the local channels, and I’m getting those FREE now with the outdoor antenna I installed!

It depends what’s on. Some of the WW2 ones are pretty good. And I do like the Pawn Stars because I like to know what things are worth.

Was the Hatfield and McCoy mini series on history channel? If so, that was the last thing I enjoyed on HC. I am in total agreement with the above comments. Those channels were much better when they aired what they advertised.

I last enjoyed the Discovery Network of channels when I was using a ten foot satellite dish.

I find myself cruising the Guide now only to give up and put in a “Great Courses” lecture DVD. Even watching one over is better entertainment.

I like “How’s It Made” and often watch that at my lover’s house. He usually just watches History channel and local news (but then, we don’t pay much attention to the TV ).

Seriously, most shows on there are repeats (budget concerns, I’d guess) and now some are totally bogus (untrue).

We get 70 over the air channels here in Atlanta. 10 are radio stations, 10 are shopping channels, 10 are religious programming, 10 are Spanish or Korean language, and 10 are test patterns or close to it, but the others are regular programming, and a couple of them are really good. Per the question, I watch the WW2 reruns on History from time to time, if the MLB channel is showing a movie.

I don’t know why the History Channel had to “wander off” . They certainly couldn’t have run out of material. We have several thousand years of history out there to explore.

laugh Take a second closer look at the strip. Those guys aren’t watching ANY channels. Their trying to con mom / wife into thinking their doing something educational while actually either gaming or texting.

Anything WWII and death camp related. I can always use a good tear jerker.
