Val: My mom thinks you're still single because you're too picky.
Rena: DOES she now.
Rena: Here's a picture of my LAST blind date. Should I send it to her?
Val: Where are his teeth?! And is that a...CHICKEN?
Face it, most women are waiting for ‘Mr. Right".And that means rich. Most of the women I know, wouldn’t know a “nice guy” if he helped change her tire on the side of the road. When they say “Where are all the nice guys!” That’s “code” for where are all the rich good looking guys that will give me everything I want without wanting anything in return!"Yeah, I’ve seen it first hand.
Sounds like MicroGuy’s got issues. (Sigh! Tired topic!)
Anywoo, it looks like Reva’s getting older, so perhaps she should look for an older widower with grown children. After all, who says she has to get married and have kids? Why can’t she live life as a bachelorette-with-benefits?? Like Mindy McCready used to sing, “Guys do it all the time…”
I’m sure blind dates work for some, but you need to broaden your horizons, Reba. Or usually what I’ve found is that once I stopped looking and go enjoy my own life, that’s when I found a good guy.Sounds like MicroGuy and Nab need to join a club and moan about their love lives together. ;-)p.s. MicroGuy, if your name is accurate, I don’t think women are dumping you because you’re not rich. ;-)
Jenn: She’s right in the demographic for the old guy who just left his wife….or, she could let her hair down and go for a younger man. I did that. What a ride! I had to support him though……
My wife of 47 years was met on a ‘blind date’. We didn’t invite the two people that ‘cooked it up’ to the wedding though ! ! ! Mainly because they weren’t ‘our kind of people’‘;the young lady was a ’good time’ girl, the male was a egotistic ’ne’er do well’ who had father issues. Not really the kind of people you want at a Midwestern farming community wedding.
I have come to learn that all the things men & women say about " the other gender" are not really gender related, but more of a human nature kind of thing. The waiting for mr, or Ms perfect is actually “code” for I don’t ever want a relationship & is a perfect excuse to remain alone.
Ok, I know this is a comic and we need funny, but . . . I don’t respect people who pass on what I call “second-hand insults.” It would be mean for someone like Val to tell Reba what Evie had said. It shows Val to be an unprincipled blabbermouth and not sensitive to Reba’s feelings. Anyhow, that’s my humble opinion.
I used to know someone who was divorced, raising two girls by herself. I had “never loved,” she had “loved and lost.” As to whether one was better than the other, she remarked, “They both stink.”
I would like to have someone to love and love me back…. but I’d rather be alone than in a marriage where I’d be totally p#~~^ – whipped, having nothing at all in my name and being totally dominated by the other. I know of at least one person like that, and I wouldn’t trade places with them for anything!

What is so wrong about not wanting to be in a relationship? It’s not the same thing as being alone.

Older guys with grown children are looking for someone to take care of them as they age.
