BTW…. it’s soo tempting, in light of Burl’s remark, to bring up that infamous “quote” from former U.S. V.P. Dan Quayle…You know the one….wherein he wishes he’d have studied Latin, so he could speak directly to the people during his tour of Latin America.
However… I have to take the high road….
and admit that he never said it.

A Latin textbook within 500’ of the Penny house? Doubtful. Maybe one of Patty’s old books, but likely those were all sold in a garage sale long ago.But latin/latino? That’s pretty good, Burl. After all, the easiest way to speak Spanish is to talk slowly and loudly, put “-io” at the end of every noun and “ez” at the end of every name. Works all the time.
