Yes Mayor Armstrong, sometimes the most heinous and vicious killers can put on a friendly and kind facade.

The mayor commands the time of Pat AND Tracy proving this was a biggie. Just wait until she sees what a boy scout her buddy Sweatbox really was.

Big-city mayors and “personal friends” are a volatile combination. It’s good that Tracy and Patton have each other—and a thick file—to help stand the heat!

I’m so glad we’re going to get the info on what happened to all those people he or someone killed.

Hmm…. Didn’t someone point out that the Mayor had some crime organization’s logo on her computer awhile back? Around the time the Mushroom Lady was taken in and Panda got his?

Sweaty had a lot of things going for him, but—- athletic prowess like Batman and invulnerability like Superman don’t top the list. Even though we saw him exercising like crazy, he was way too out-of-shape to have gotten out of that car after it fell from a cliff and got battered by landing upside-down on the tracks. Getting hit by a train and bursting into flames—- nope, he’s dead.

I never liked mayors that have “close friends”. Especially friends who stuff bodies into crypts. (I’m biting my tongue trying hard not to mention the Windy City)

Sorry, I did not intend to be rude.. Something is happening with this site today. My comments appear and disappear, I am unable to paste into the comments box. The comment you refer to posted before I was finished typing. I deleted it because I thought it sounded harsh and it somehow posted itself again. I received a Java update this morning and since then this site seems wonky. I’m going to reboot and see if that helps.

It looks like we finally might have a story that actually has and end to it. One where we find out what happened to the characters and what the conclusive findings of the criminal investigations are.

The timing on this story is pretty good. We had the big climax on Sunday (extra panels for all the action) and now we get a couple of days of explanation. Mike and Joe and company started out very well and are now building up to excellent at the tricky logistics of the daily strip.

That is a good comparison if we were talking about model trains. N scale is extremely small and G scale is extremely large.

When I was in college, I got a job at an amusement park as engineer on a steam train. The train was from an old mining camp and had been refitted and repainted for the amusement park ride. I had to learn to fire the boiler each morning, watch and interpret the pressure gauges, and generally learn everything about the engine. This particular train ran on narrow gauge tracks (2’ between rails). A normal train runs on standard gauge tracks (4’8.5" between rails).

What’s with Comic Strip Nation today? They haven’t updated the Tracy strip since Sunday. I usually go there to see the artwork in B&W as Joe intended when he drew it.

We also know now that there are no Martians but HG Wells’ War of the Worlds is still a popular novel. Fiction doesn’t have to follow reality.

“The Moon Maid character has proven to be tremendously popular and if all of the new posters on this site are any indication, has drawn many readers to the strip. The bottom line is that Dick Tracy is a product with the purpose of making money. More readers equals more money. The creative team would be remiss not to take advantage of this.”You nailed it Ray Toler. If Moon Maid is a rock star, Team Tracy would be crazy not to put her on stage and keep her there. And as much as I adore her character, I’m quite okay with shutting down the trips to the moon if that means we have earth-bound Mysta back for good.

Just because the mayor was friends with Sweaty doesn’t mean she’s corrupt. If the Baux’s were an ‘old money’ family, they’d have been well known publicly for generations. And if he’s been bankrolling and supporting kids’ sports, politicians of all parties would want to be seen with him as good pr.Sweaty’s hardly the first killer to hide in plain sight.

You said: “…would suddenly panic and make such foolish decisions.”-———————————————————Disagree with you there, SDM.There is a basic rule I’d learned when I was reporting police/crime: Crooks is stupid. From the moment they think “Hey, I can get away with this! Nobody’ll ever know it was me” they act stupidly. Maybe they bungle right away and are caught – like the guy who tried to rob a convenience store wearing a rented Gumby costume; the big hands wouldn’t let him pull his gun from his pocket!Maybe they get away long enough to get sloppy – like a corrupt CT mayor who became a federal snitch – and thought that meant it they’d look the other way when he tried to line up an underage hooker on a bugged phone line.Jails are full of people who make foolish decisions.

You said: “…I set up a Marklin Z scale train set every Christmas at my job…”-—————————————-Careful, SDM – revealing things like that will get your Troll Union card revoked! How big or small is Z scale? I had a big Lionel HO scale when I was a kid.

Today’s strip: I live near the Windy City, not in it but near it. Tell me that the Rahmfather has connections that are less than savory— and I probably can’t argue the point.

I also use Firefox but I have a Java plug-in because I manage two websites for the Boy Scouts that use Java. I also hadn’t reached any limit because it happened on my first post. After the Java update, once I closed and restarted Firefox, everything worked fine.

Yes, that is what I discovered this morning. My firefox had turned it off. BTW Java and Java Script are two different programming languages. It is only Java that has recently shown vulnerability. That is why Java is putting out so many patches and updates lately.

Part of the problem is that Java is an extremely common programming language and is actually used on most cell phones.

Hackers have apparently found a weakness in Java code that they can exploit. But Java is usually pretty innocuous and is used for things like chat boards, animated menus and photo albums much like Flash is used. Flash player is simply an app that can interpret Flash code. If you have disabled Java, watch your browser to make sure web pages display correctly. Depending on how tight you have security set on your browser, you may get a popup message asking if you want to enable Java for specific sites.
