Wow, I’ve been around dogs all my life, trained a many, and never knew the word “flews.” I knew they leaked, though I’ve never known why so many larger dogs are wetmouths.

Flews? What the heck are flews? So I looked it up.

Flews \Flews\, n. pl. The pendulous or overhanging lateral parts of the upper lip of dogs, especially prominent in hounds; — called also chaps.

30 humans may die because of dogs in the us annually, but a human trained that behavior. How many of you cat lovers have never been bloodied by a cat? Did you ever try to wash one?

ailurophile17, if people learned how to read a dogs body language and properly trained there dogs these “incidents” wouldn’t happen. The droopier the lips the more dogs drool. Also certain instances make them drool more as well, like getting a treat. Dogs are cheap butlers?? Not really. Dogs are expensive if you are taking care of them right. Good food and vet visits aren’t cheap!

Priceless. I knew my rabbits had dewlaps.

Dewlap \Dew"lap`\, n. [Dew + lap to lick.] 1. The pendulous skin under the neck of an ox, which laps or licks the dew in grazing. [1913 Webster]

    2. The flesh upon the human throat, especially when with age.

Hey, Bucky. I’ve got news for you. The only reason cats were brought to this country in the first place was that they were a cheap, self-replacing method of pest control. Everything else was just an added perk.

Both dogs and cats are free. Have had them just leave and never come back a few times. Wait! Maybe they were stolen?
