Well it may not be the bill we wanted, but it is much better then anything we would have gotten from the Republicans.

It doesn’t go into effect until 4 years from now, but the taxes begin now. It’s like setting up the 911 system today, but when you call in, the ambulance takes 4 years to get here. I don’t get the urgency to pass this legislation before the 2000 pages can be read, comprehended and discussed. Don’t sweat the fine print, just sign? Come on…….we need to know what’s in this bill……..

fennec, You win. I finally read it. I agree that it will improve coverage. However, the article does not address my concerns regarding the budget and the reduction of health care costs.

    NOSE HIT !!!

Health insurance is not health care. Forcing one and

all to buy insurance is a tax on the public for the

benefit of insurance companies. The public will

benefit from this tax just as much the public benefitted

from the Wall Street bailout –zero! zip! nada!–

because there is no public option, like there was no

Mainstreet bailout, and you can say whatever you

want to the corporate bigshots, but they’ll keep on

giving themselves millions and making their stock-holders rich –if they have to lay off

everyone and hire them back part-time to do it.

No Medicare buy-in, no public option to keep costs down, no streamlining of personal medical insurance info btwn private insurers and government agencies, immediate taxation to pay for the mingy thing, which won’t take effect till, yes, 2013-2014, and how is this bill “better” may I ask, Mr. Warren? It’s still the economy, stupid.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Single payer, single low price health care for ALL citizens. Just like we give to the President and Congress - you know, OUR employees?

No need to reassemble, it never got disassembled – we’ve had laws regarding pre-existing conditions before, they just wiggle around them – the only thing that will change is abortion coverage – taken away (just as they said nothing would be)
