A mix of the two is probably better. No one is making you avoid protein, Cathy, and some fruits, veggies and whole grains would be good for you, other guy.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! Have a great day, all!
If you expect to lose weight on a protein diet, you can’t have fries. You also can’t have bread for a burger. You can eat the patty and the cheese, but not the bread. I don’t think extreme protein diets work long term, and they’re unhealthy, but they do cause short term weight loss if you follow them to the letter.
I think any diet that keeps you from eating the foods you like is not going to work.
Playing catch-up with the comics again today. Just spent 2 days in a dark, cold (new heating plant should be installed in the next couple of weeks) theatre installing enough lighting for the upcoming production of Sleuth. It is good to be back in that building although a little frustrating as everything we had installed many years ago was ripped out by the new owner that kicked us out. Fortunately he did not last long and the foundation that owns the theatre now is working hard to bring back both movies and live theatre. Unfortunately the building sat empty and unheated for a few years before the foundation was created and took ownership. Still, it feels good to be ‘home’ again. That and all the exercise I got going up and down stairs and ladders makes me feel better.
BOTH “diets” seem a little crazy to me. Although his sounds positively delicious (as I love bacon, cheeseburgers, fries and steak!), I’d gain too many unwanted pounds eating things like that every day. As for Cathy’s, I’d be really hungry all the time because she didn’t list nearly enough good-sounding food to even half-way fill me up, which would cause me to eat things I shouldn’t be eating in order to help stop the hunger pangs they would leave behind.
I think I’ll just stay where I’m at regarding my moderation eating, continue walking the 2 to 3 miles my husband and I do every evening after dinner (which will be switched to before dinner once the time changes so that we’re not walking in the dark), and hope that one of these days, I’ll lose enough weight to FINALLY squeeze back into my size 8 jeans again! ;-)

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
Aaron and Dr. Billy: Thinking of you both today (as I so often do). The last time we heard from you was 9 years ago today. Just hoping that wherever you are, you’re safe and well, and that you’ll come back to your friends here on “Cathy’s Corner” again someday. Love and miss you both! ♥

Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope you all had a really nice day today! :-)
So frustrated with weight watchers…They’ve opened some studios back up but don’t have staffing…They’re insisting that Lifetime Members weigh in monthly…The closest studio for me is over 10 miles away and then just on Saturday mornings long before I even get up…The only studio I could make it to is a 50 mile round trip….And I just checked and it is not open at the times they have given me. On top of all that, I’ve lost 5 lbs and would really like to weigh in if I could get anywhere to do it. Grrrrr.

Those keto-style diets are INSANE. Eat all the butter, cheese and steak you want! Maybe the idea is that you lose weight after the heart attack?

Wonder why I alternated between being hungry and … (not) … while reading today’s strip?
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
