COVID-19 killed more police officers in the last 18 months than guns. That was 100% preventable if they would get vaccinated and wear masks.

According to statistics reported to the FBI, 59 police officers were killed in the line of duty from January 1, 2021, to September 30, 2021.

In 2019, 754 women were identified as having died of maternal causes in the United States, compared with 658 in 2018 (2). The maternal mortality rate for 2019 (20.1 deaths per 100,000 live births) was significantly higher than the rate for 2018 (17.4)

Maybe if all the parents of these kids and or the sellers who provided the military style weapons were prosecuted along with the perp, just maybe parents and gun sellers would take heed and watch who and what the hell they sell guns to. Cops are doing FOUR TIMES as much to kill THEMSELVES by being anti-vax – Nearly 4 times as many police officers have died from COVID-19 as guns in 2021.

Covid killed more cops than bullets did this year. Too bad some of those cop deaths could have been avoided if those cops had been vaxxed.

A few things to add context.

There are about 700,000 full time police in this country. 419 died on the job, about 6 of every 10,000. 1 out of 10,000 by homicide.

According to https://www.odmp.org/search/year/2021 Officer down memorial page, 58 officers were shot to death in 2021 (as of their printing in December of this year. 17 were killed by vehicular assault According to the Washington Post, which keeps track of police shootings, 934 people were shot to death by the police. If there is a war on cops, the cops are winning.

Of the 419 police who have died so far this year, 290 are from COVID-19. Covid is 5 times more likely to kill an officer than a perp with a gun. It makes one wonder why the police are resistant to getting a vaccine.

According to Bluehelp.org – which tracks first responder suicides, 133 officers died by suicide, 4 were with the Capitol police.

Every once in a while the Right will start with the “war on cops” thing. Policing is a dangerous job, but there are far more dangerous jobs out there. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the most dangerous job in America is logging. Police come in at #22.

Mr. Goodwyn neglects to note that far more police officers (and other first responders) died this past year from COVID-19 than from gunfire.

Republicans refuse to support any kind of gun control.

I do not like Al Goodwyn, but, I have to admit, that he has this one right. I guess it’s true that even a stopped clock is righty twice a day.

Pushing his warped agenda, Goodwyn ignores how many other Americans die from gunshots each and every year!

More police have died from Covid than guns. Some estimates are as high as five times as many.

I’m loving that the parents got arrested. Now if we can do that to EVERY parent whose kid shoots someone … like Rittenhouse’s parents.
