It certainly looks like the elephant’s graveyard, and the Congressional elephants seem to be making considerable haste to go there. If only the Richthuglicons were as mythical as that graveyard…

Don’t recall the Republicans getting the vapors when Bush Jr. ignored Congress with his “signing statements.”

The first two years Obama was in office with a completely compliant Congress and all we got was Obamacare… How dysfunctional is that?!

that’s what we got when obama decided to negotiate with petulant children whose only objective was to stamp their feet, fold their arms and scream ‘i hate you, i hate you’… it’s about time we stopped catering to tantrums and began to get some good work done. just put the children in ‘time out’ until they’re willing to do the work that they were elected to do!

What TTM?! The Democrats couldn’t get a single Republican to go along with anything they did?! Is this what you are implying because that is pretty much true.
How lame is that?! The Republican House right now generally can garner at least some Democrat support of bills they introduce. The Democrat held senate has far, far less Republican support for the few things Reid allows to come to the floor.
Seems to me that it was a combination of Democrat leadership incompetence (that trioka of morons Pelosi, Reid, and Obama) along with their insistance on completely cutting the Republicans out of the process (“I won, get over it” that Obama told the Republican leadership almost 6 months after taking office when he finally deined to meet with them due to the inability of Democrats alone to get anything done with their overwhelming majorities is indicative of that) that made Obama’s first two years in office a complete fail.

REALITY CHECK: Obama has used FEWER executive orders than any president in 100 years.

“The libertarians …can catch them…well…no..The Libertarians seem to be “hands off” – very, very small government… allowing the people to run amuck….thus bringing back the conservatives…”
The difference between libertarians, democrats and republicans is that Republicans believe in the absolute good of the private sector, Democrats believe in the absolute good of the government and libertarians believe that they are both people and prone to corruption and neither should have too much power over other people.

Nope. Obama is issuing far fewer executive orders than his predecessors. Less in his first term than Reagan, Carter, Clinton, Bush I, and Bush II. So no, I’m not worried about “setting a precedent.”

But it IS a good point. I remember telling Shrub-lovers not to be so willing to provide him with powers that you wouldn’t want Hillary Clinton to have. If we had thought that way, perhaps the whole NSA spy-issue would be a non-issue now. Light a candle or curse the darkness……

Fewer executive orders, in fact, for many more presidents than that. (I won’t bother to list them, but it’s quite a long list!)

“Why would anyone want the worst of the two parties in power to finish the job for the Plutocrats that much faster. And without any goodies for the 80%”?

You keep whining about plutocrats but the Democrats are far worse then Republicans in big business. They have not done a thing against loop holes on the rich not one closed, also about 59% of the country want less government, would not that hurt the Plutocrats then.

    The 59%

Sorry the majority want less government because we have seen how more government has failed.

As for the Democrats getting more money:

Sorry dude you are supporting what you claim to hate.

As for executive recent presidents have used them less. By the time President Obama is done at this rate he would have used more then Reagan both Bushs and Clinton.

How do libertarians propose to keep the “private sector”, that is, huge corporations, from having “too much power over other (sic) people”?

Then Jerry you have never watched the videos of Obama sitting stone faced and clearly p!$$ed off as various Republicans, Tom Ryan in particular, reads off a list of facts and figures on the accounting predictions about Obamacare and how disasterous it would be if passed.
How about his “speech” in the Rose Garden after his pathetic attempt at gun control failed.
If there is a “petulant child” in Washington politics today it is Obama. He thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room (he’d be badly wrong on that), and that people will do what he demands simply because he IS Obama.
Too bad for him, reality doesn’t work that way.
