   Cho repeatedly references Red Dwarf and other sci-fi shows. The engine’s name is yet another wink towards the geeks in the room. Serenity is the spaceship in the Firefly series.

   Indeed it was years ago - the late Phyllis was involved in that storyline and her death was revealed in May 2004..

   Jay Maeder and Ted Slampyak have done a marvelous job updating and re-energizing this strip, yet honoring the heritage.

   One can only hope that they might be tagged to do the same for another once iconic strip about a famed, hardnosed police detective.

   So let’s see - October 4th is an anniversary of the Gould strip. Dare we guess it’s actually going to be aknowedged?

   Let’s see - from what I recall, October 4 would mark the 78th Anniversary of the debut of Chester Gould’s Dick Tracy strip.

   Perhaps a fitting tribute..or at the very least a tip of the hat - is in the works?

   It is indeed the DC Metro area Beltsville that plays host to this cast and to The Henry A. Wallace Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, self-proclaimed “The World’s Largest Most Diversified Agricultural Research Complex”

   I’d much rather spend some quality time in the Beltsville area of Brandy’s sweatshirt…there are no mountains like that in the other one!

   What a polite group! Everyone very nicely overlooks the adult innuendo of the opening joke…

   I don’t remember when this story line began, but at the onset wasn’t there a teaser from Tess about unauthorized charges on her credit card statement?

   The most dissapointing part, while she was mentioned in passing, there was no flashback providing one last look at old Queenie from the Blue Diamond caper.

   Mmmm….almonds….

    Apparently this young lady is an experienced technician in both electronics and computer programming. Undoubtedly she will use the time-honored method of both those trades and restore Xaxos with a good, hard smack with a heavy solid object.
