All those waiting for 2,000 years for him to come back, should check out more bus stops for him?

Actually, the whole thing is a fairy tale, a big lie.

Christmas shopping is the way to a life of poverty. It’s not a lie if you believe it. Our whole world is a living miracle of faith, falsehoods made true by the adherence of believers. Everything is fine otherwise though!

Yep, because folks buy on the never-never.

I’m going to assume you’re being facetious. Otherwise I’d have to remind you of all the tens of millions of people who were tortured, murdered, or otherwise subjugated over the last 1000 years under the guise of Christianity.

    Time for Blitzkrieg on Grinchitude.
This cartoon is sarcasm of the highest order and yet, it is another example of how Christians can tolerate such comments as this one while the same cartoon showing Mohammend would cause rioting in Islamic communities.. And from my reading, when Jesus did go into a ‘market’ and saw the deals, he chased the merchants and moneychangers out of the temple that had been turned over to more secular activities. I don’t think Mr. Bors is being very accurate here.

“Just because somebody tries to follow Jesus doesn’t mean they are not a sinner. What did Jesus teach? “If somebody smites you upon the cheek, turn to him the other.””
Do you have any idea what Jesus was teaching? I read so much misinterpretation from those using their own experience, not knowing the historical perspective. Which contributes to so many failing when taking biblical history tests.
    source example:

‘A literal interpretation of the passages, in which the command refers specifically to a manual strike against the side of a person’s face, can be supported by reference to historical and other factors.2 At the time of Jesus, striking someone deemed to be of a lower class with the back of the hand was used to assert authority and dominance.3 If the persecuted person “turned the other cheek,” the discipliner was faced with a dilemma. The left hand was used for unclean purposes, so a back-hand strike on the opposite cheek would not be performed.4 The other alternative would be a slap with the open hand as a challenge or to punch the person, but this was seen as a statement of equality. Thus, by turning the other cheek the persecuted was in effect demanding equality. By handing over one’s cloak in addition to one’s tunic, the debtor has essentially given the shirt off his back, a situation directly forbidden by Hebrew Law as stated in Deuteronomy. ’

And in addition to that, Jesus was saying that if a man slaps you on your left cheek, turn your right cheek and right side of your body to him to disquise your drawing of your sword, and then disembowl the SOB. Jesus was teaching self defense here.

    Now I am confused.
The other day the explanation of ‘camel through the eye of the needle’ was explained as ‘rope’ and ‘camel’ being mixed up.
A previous explanation had ‘needle’ and ‘doorway’ mixed up.
    .
Are all thes ‘mistranslations’ being made up?
Please do not reply using magic interpretations, I am puzzled by the real conflict of differing translations.
