If you look at the last 12 years, it could be argued that Tax Cuts result in Job Loss and Economic Instability.

His redistribution of wealth beliefs might come true. Except we will all be equally poorer. Good job.

Can’t tell new trolls from rebadged old trolls.
They all spew the same one liners from the same playbook.
.
The toon indicates to me that to avoid doom congress would have to pull together.
We’re doomed, all doomed.

I agree with Stipple. Unless Congress can work together with Pres. Obama we are definitely doomed. Now is not the time for political grandstanding & filibustering but a time to resolve our differences because we’re all going over that fiscal cliff together.

@dapperdan61
You MUST be kidding!
Since when has Congress EVER done anything other then “Political Grandstanding”??
Heck, and now things are SO goofy that Mitch McConnell is actually Filibustering HIS OWN BILL to keep it from being voted on!

The whole thing that does not make sense, at least on the surface, is why it’s a “Crisis” since it gives everyone what they want!
Dems get the end of the Bush Tax cuts on the 1%, and the Reps get the cuts in social services…
Yes, I know that it’s a LOT more complicated then that, but a LOT of people will see it that way…

But you cons said Mittens would win in a landslide. PBS’s News Hour cannot hold a torch to you conservative’s insight on the election.
See how idiotic “you types” sound, dear Howie?
BTW, my description of you typing away on the keyboard (in a McConnell look alike dither) received rave reviews!
Didja get to have your tutor read ’em to ya?

“Doomed, all doomed.”
The cry of Faux News this morning who opined, “We must cut government spending or we’ll go over the fiscal cliff which will result in an automatic cutting of government spending!”
The horror; the horror.

Obama & the Democrats were willing to agree to the deal Boehner proposed this week back in 2011. Boehner reneged on the deal because he thought he could get even more after the election. Turns out he was wrong, but he still thinks he should get his way. It’s pretty clear which party is not facing reality.
Obama has won on the tax rate hike. He will compromise on the total revenue, but it’s going to be significantly more than the GOP’s $800 billion figure. And it’s really up to the GOP to be specific on what they want to cut. Obama is much more flexible on that than most liberals want him to be. Anyone who thinks military shouldn’t be on the table, ought to be run out of office. Our military is stronger than the next 10 biggest nations’ combined!

If sequestration is permitted to take place, there will be a great deal of wasted time, money, and anxiety, but once the new legislators are sworn in, hopefully before the president is sworn in, an agreement will be made. I hope we have a bill that is the kind of long term, bipartisan product our business leaders say they need in order to make decisions on hiring and investing. I believe we will go into the next year without a bill because it is the only way Republicans can keep their promise to Norquist while still giving in to 60%+ voters who want the wealthy to pay higher taxes.
I also believe we will continue to have a legislature that is for the most part, narrow minded, self serving, and in violation of their vows to serve the people who elected them while acting in the interests of those who gave them money.
I still hope to one day see a reality tv show that offers us a chance to meet thinkers and leaders instead of singers and dancers.
Respectfully,
& Happy Holidayze,
C.

I have to disagree. I believe it’s the job cuts that have happened in the last 12 years. It’s a demand economy. Demand is down because employment is down. We need to encourage new job growth in the US. Generic tax cuts for “job creators” doesn’t work. Any jobs they create would be in China where they moved most of the other jobs to.
