If you look at the last 12 years, it could be argued that Tax Cuts result in Job Loss and Economic Instability.

His redistribution of wealth beliefs might come true. Except we will all be equally poorer. Good job.

I agree with Stipple. Unless Congress can work together with Pres. Obama we are definitely doomed. Now is not the time for political grandstanding & filibustering but a time to resolve our differences because we’re all going over that fiscal cliff together.

But you cons said Mittens would win in a landslide. PBS’s News Hour cannot hold a torch to you conservative’s insight on the election.

See how idiotic “you types” sound, dear Howie?

BTW, my description of you typing away on the keyboard (in a McConnell look alike dither) received rave reviews!

Didja get to have your tutor read ’em to ya?

Obama & the Democrats were willing to agree to the deal Boehner proposed this week back in 2011. Boehner reneged on the deal because he thought he could get even more after the election. Turns out he was wrong, but he still thinks he should get his way. It’s pretty clear which party is not facing reality.Obama has won on the tax rate hike. He will compromise on the total revenue, but it’s going to be significantly more than the GOP’s $800 billion figure. And it’s really up to the GOP to be specific on what they want to cut. Obama is much more flexible on that than most liberals want him to be. Anyone who thinks military shouldn’t be on the table, ought to be run out of office. Our military is stronger than the next 10 biggest nations’ combined!

If sequestration is permitted to take place, there will be a great deal of wasted time, money, and anxiety, but once the new legislators are sworn in, hopefully before the president is sworn in, an agreement will be made. I hope we have a bill that is the kind of long term, bipartisan product our business leaders say they need in order to make decisions on hiring and investing. I believe we will go into the next year without a bill because it is the only way Republicans can keep their promise to Norquist while still giving in to 60%+ voters who want the wealthy to pay higher taxes. I also believe we will continue to have a legislature that is for the most part, narrow minded, self serving, and in violation of their vows to serve the people who elected them while acting in the interests of those who gave them money.I still hope to one day see a reality tv show that offers us a chance to meet thinkers and leaders instead of singers and dancers. Respectfully,& Happy Holidayze,C.

NebulousRikulau said, about 12 hours ago“If you look at the last 12 years, it could be argued that Tax Cuts result in Job Loss and Economic Instability.” (end quote)-in the last 12 years….to 2000….and earlier…the 1990s…..Congress passed too many laws intruding into home mortgages…and regulations mandating expensive to business changes….threatening the loan industry into giving loans to applicants with no way of repaying….the Bubbles caused recession/depression conditions….no matter what tax rates were law.-If the US went back to “Clinton’s tax rates” WITH CLINTON’S SPENDING as a LEGAL CEILING….maybe there could be a real recovery….given time. But that won’t happen with a TAX REGIME in charge….Obama is calling for INCREASED SPENDING….Oct. & Nov. FY 2013 is already nearly $300 Billion in debt, and Obama plans to spend much more….it is Insanity.

Lock ’em all in a room and feed them nothing but Bologna sandwiches and tap water until they play nice with each other. That should fix the issue. .Could even balance the budget that way.

I hope that on the first day of the new session, when only a simple majority is needed, not 60 votes, that Senate Democrats pass the filibuster reform. Republicans want to go back to 1975?On that issue, I do, too.

Yep.My company is doing so badly in this horrible economy that its stock is at an all time high and they’ve declared a second dividend this year, forcing me to pay more taxes for money that they gave me that I didn’t work for.Oh horrors! I’m going to the poorhouse on my paycheck AND a dividend that’s a significant fraction of the former.

Obama offered 3 to 1 reductions over taxes and Boehner walked away. ALL Republican candidates said they would not even go for a 10 to 1 ratio. And once again they are holding disaster relief hostage to “cuts, somewhere”. Kick all their “fiscal conservative” asses out. If they were really “fiscal conservatives”, they would not be proposing TWO TRILLION extra defense spending that the Defense Dept. says it DOESN’T NEED! Maybe if we took them to Seaside Heights and held their heads underwater? But they only want disaster relief if it’s THEIR disaster (Haley Barbour!).
