A girl had the Kali-type eyebrow piercings during geology field exercises. Kept getting caught in brush and trees.

My parents were Dutch. Most of the words I picked up from them were ones I wasn’t supposed to repeat!

How many people with piercings like that know what almost everybody thinks of them when they see them? (If they did, I bet they’d pull them out right then and there.)

Tried googling this phrase but got nowhere – is a “Kali-type” different from the normal eyebrow piercings I’ve seen, or is that what they are actually called? Just curious.

I can’t understand any kind of piercings, but especially tongue piercings. I wonder how many kids with pierced tongues know that tongue-piercing used to be a punishment given to runaway slaves?

Same is true in most families, the older folks curse in their native language and if you get old enough, they teach you what those words mean. I’’m multi-lingual at cursing.

I did not know that about tongue piercing! I only got my ears pierced because any clip-on earings would either pinch or slide off my ears.

RERUN However Mrs. Angellini’s reaction reminds me of my Father-in-law. Then his response would have been “Povera America” – or “Poor America”. was a great guy.
