Strap a snow ski on either side of the bike – what could possibly go wrong?

If you can see your reflection instead of the sidewalk … or road… then riding a bike on it might not be such a good idea.

I did that once, but the snow fell AFTER school started, I had no choice but to take the bike home in it. I had a hard time choosing between falling from ridding and falling from walking, either way I was gliding on the Iced over bike path, saving my self some effort.

Bicycling to school one morning, I started going around a corner and ended up on the road.

I once owned a small (90cc) motorcycle. I lived in Michigan at the time. One January I need to go across town, there was snow on the ground but the streets were mostly clear and I figured it was safe to ride the bike….. I learned that day why you don’t use the front brake when its slippery. I just touched the control and suddenly my rear wheel was trying to pass me, fortunately I recovered from the slip without injury or even a fall down but I was lucky.

This reminds me of a news broadcast from Winnipeg, MB, Canada where several vehicles banged into one another due to icy roads and they also showed a guy on a bike who was pedalling along when his bike hit an icy patch and they both went down.
