I’d guess you’d need a lot off phone booths which are pretty much extinct! William Sleator wrote a good young adult book on a cloning situation.

Oh give me a clone, where the toadas all roam, and the bids are much higher all day. (someone help me out here – I need a good ending).

It’ll turn out the clones are defective and have to be destroyed. They don’t want to be. So Mel has to get an identity-wiped special agent to “retire” them in… Toada Recall.
