NOW Toni is not all that concerned anymore and finds this charming. And she is Luann’s potential sister in law. Thank goodness she has a mom like Nancy who is level-headed and wise. She WILL talk about this with Nancy at one point and learn from a role model. Nancy WILL say Toni was wrong about the whole thing.

I meant making a fool out of herself with the letter carrier, not with Quill. My point was that there was nothing wrong with Luann’s sending that letter to Quill, and that for once, Toni should have minded her own business.

If Luann is such a dope she probably only put a normal domestic stamp on the letter, instead of going to the Post Office to have it weighed, etc. It’ll be “returned to sender” in a day or two.

Let’s give Quill a chance! Maybe he’ll skype to say he loves Luann, too! (Hey, it could happen!)

Hate to disagree with Leviticus but it will take a bit more than 2 days for a letter to arrive in Australia. Also although one needs a bit more than one First Class stamp to mail a letter overseas you need Air Mail or it goes surface mail. And it is a bit difficult to drive there. No need for foreign postage either as I am not quite sure where the nearest Aussie PO might be.

This whole story line is an example of the “idiot plot.”

I used to work at a post office. Mail, once it has been placed into a dropbox becomes the property of the recipient, and can not be given back to the sender just by asking for it. ID or not, doesn’t matter.

Unless it was lacking postage and returned for that reason, it will be sent to its destination.

So, Toni, have you realized that sharing feelings with another person, gender regardless, is a MATURE thing? Even if Quill was “forced” to say something back, he’s 28 hours ahead of Luann and almost 9000 miles. What’s he gonna do, say “bye, mum and dad, I’m going back to the states ’cause this sheila says she loves me.”???

I cannot understand why some people have to be so acrimonious and rude. The nasty remarks about Greg and about fellow commentors is appalling. Greg cannot please every single person who reads Luann and shouldn’t try to do so. If this strip causes certain people so much angst. Maybe they would be better off psychologically to refrain from reading it.

Holy Cow!! Now, waiting to find out Quill’s response, I think I’m as nervous as Luann!! (and I left those teen angst years in the dust a long, long time ago)

I’d say why the hell didn’t she have an ID, but then I remember when I was 16 I rarely carried a wallet too.

potential sister’s-in-law, I love it. Both beautiful too. Wow, the guys who are married (Luann’s dad) or who will probably get married (Brad) certainly get lucky with the women in their lives.

Luann would have been more attractive in the first panel if her tongue wasn’t drawn in, it looks like she’s chewing on something. The way she’s made up she should go and show Tiffany so she could stop teasing her, because she looks just as pretty.

I’m curious as to just why Luann does not have any identification. Even if she doesn’t have a driver’s license or a learner’s permit, a simple photo ID card is easily obtainable, at least here in North Carolina. If she were my daughter, she would have at least that.

I agree with gimmickgenius . I’m thinking the letter’ll be returned for insufficient postage.

At least attempting to “seduce” a male letter carrier would have made sense, even though it, too, probably would not have ended well. Trying to come on to a female letter carrier wouldn’t, for the two reasons that I stated above — particularly reason (a).

Love is a two-way street (I’m told).
