Yes, Shoe: as an editor, and one who berates his chief columnist regularly, you should check your own grammar! “This country” is singular, therefore, use “is.” The ‘be’ verb doesn’t refer to the open minds. Y’know: subject-object and all that.

Sarge, I must be missing something. The programs that interest me are under attack by the Tea Party. They want to cut Medicaid, privatize Social Security, reduce school meal progams (programs that help poor kids learn better and maybe stop being poor), eliminate the EPA, and many more things I believe critical to the well-being of this country. Please do not tell me President Obama is the problem.

More Democrats need to follow that advice. After all, their mantra is, “never let a tragedy go to waste”, especially if it involves guns or race.

guard sgt is working the ‘if you say it often enough people will start to believe it"Even though we would prefer not to feed the troll, these foaming-at-the-mouth posts can’t but make us all respond in some way. I for one am now going to start with compassion for someone who is clearly very upset and most likely suffering from his experiences.

I do not agree with any of the posts you write. However as a fellow human being I am moved by your suffering. So I offer this. I am not wise enough to have written this but it is true.

    EQUANIMITY

Things are just as they are

    Everything is impermanent

Joys and sorrows arise and pass away

All beings are heirs to their own intentions and actions

Your happiness and sorrows depend upon your intentions and actions, not my wishes for you

    I care about you

I cannot prevent you from suffering

Talk to your old shop teacher, buy some tools and lumber, practice. Figure out what real American patriots would be doing to the tyrants in ‘74.Nomatter the election, we’re going to find out soon that DOJ has been bought by the same people as cooked LIBOR, tapped people for FOX, broke the Treasury, sent our kids to profitable wars per dead kid, funded and founded the Tea party, and the question is…do want the dems in power or the reeps when people find out and go to hang Limbaugh, et al?

You gotta GET this: Obama isn’t the lesser of two evils…Obama is the best we can do right now…read it again, snort and read it again…get it deeply…? and yes, we have honest work to do early next year.

Ever build a guillotine? all those guys will evade justice as long as they are alive…they can buy immunity, that’s what they are doing NOW.

Talk to your old shop teacher, buy some tools and lumber, figure out what american patriots would be doing to tyrants in ’74 and French patriots a few years later…

I have no idea who flagged him, but it wasn’t me, though I spent way too much time arguing with him on yesterday’s Doonesbury.

He is an extreme right-winger who spends a lot of time posting on a strip that is notoriously liberal, so yeah, troll. And, I’m pretty sure Hags wasn’t the first person to call him that, and she was trying to be nice.

Ok, Mr Specifics. I would like to know how the Dems, who can’t seem to get anything done in Congress, supposedly run this vast network of media that you say is under their control. Do you have any proof?

I do know, as a verifiable fact, that the founding CEO of Fox News is a former Republican campaign consultant. That is actually the closest tie between a news organization and a political party that I know about. Enlighten me, oh informed one.

No, you continuously spout far right talking points just like Beck or one of those loud, obnoxious radio show hosts.

No, one conservative opinion certainly doesn’t make one a troll on any site, but someone whose every opinion is the near polar opposite of both the author of the toon and the majority of posters…particularly when said person continues to take the attitude that he is the fount of all true knowledge and we are ignorant sheep…that’s a troll.

"watched the "Media " play Bush landing on the air craft carrier and put a negative spin on it over and over again"lol, lol. I watched everybody glorify in the “Mission Accomplished” moment for months. I was alone among my family and friends in saying “This is insane. This war has only BEGUN.”35,000 casualties and 800 billion dollars later . . . the “Mission Accomplished” moment now appears so tragically naive . . .

Well, I can’t fully explain why the media does what it does, but declaring “victory” at that point was pretty stupid. As for how the POTUS greets foreign leaders, I could care less, and I guess there may be quite a few other people like me. The media does try to focus on things that people will care to read or watch.

Privatizing it will end it, pure plain and simple, as the private companies who run it will want every cent they can get for their stockholders, and to hell with the people who bought into the plan. Private enterprise has no reason to do anything other than keep what is put in, and pay out nothing. When it comes to social services, capitalism is a gigantic failure. And if you;ll recall, the only tax cuts President Obama is pushing are for the middle class, the far more expensive tax cuts for the rich are the GOP and TEA PARTY TRAITORS idea. (tea Party being a synonym for traitor)

If the media is so liberal, why do ALL the political talk shows bring on 90% white male conservative guests? Another Conservative LIE.

At first this sound like a right wing statement about social programs, but now I see “open mouths” as referring to people in Congress who talk too much and don’t actually do anything. Much better.
