I’ll stick with the WeenieWorld option, though perhaps Shannon will not have made it all the way there in this storm. Or perhaps she did get there, soaked, and Ann Eiffel will use this event as a means of attacking Brad for negligence, child endangerment, and whatever other charges she can dream up in her revenge fantasies….

Shannon IS devious, but is she smart enough to open the door so that B&T will think she went outside (when she planned to hide inside)? She’s overt in her actions – not subtle. I vote for her leaving before it started to rain. 2 minutes ago? – Maybe they were “involved” longer than they realize.

Shannon may have opened the door, seen the pouring rain, and gone back in the house without locking the door. I doubt she’d want to go outside in the pouring rain.

Dave, good post – “what will be the ultimate point of this arc?” Probably, info stored in Toni’s subconscious relating to Brad’s care and actions when confronted by a child in trouble. These can be positive or not, but they have later impact, like his confrontation with Dirk, catching her when she fell, etc. May make her more willing to at least think about marriage.

I’m not convinced Shannon’s hiding inside the house (a lot of 5-year-olds are undaunted by rain), but if she is, I can’t imagine her hiding in a dishwasher or washing machine because those aren’t obstacle-free spaces, as I learned when I was a little kid myself. I vote for the dryer, hamper or under a bed if she’s anywhere inside.

As for the story arc’s denouement, who knows? That’s why we check in every day.

I agree. Also, with a lot of the clamoring for the two the tie the knot, people are claiming that the pair have been dating for several years now. In fact, they haven’t been. Luann was sixteen when they started dating, and she still isn’t 17. Brad’s still 19, unless Greg has altered the age gap again. Also, it was revealed early on that Toni dated Dirk for over four years. He might not have revealed his nastiness to her right away, which would explain why Toni, even though she trusts Brad, wants to wait and see how they both mature before making a legal commitment.

Anyway, that’s just my two-cent thought.

Regardless of the circumstances and details prefacing the eventual discovery of Queenie’s whereabouts, and the determination of bonehead to locate her…. Toni will see a side of him that she hasn’t seen before… the side that has kept her from talking about furthering their relationship, ie “the M word”…. he is now a hero, a dedicated and caring father figure…. isn’t that what every/most women want in a LTR..?? (minus a swiss bank account)

When Shannon left, the look on her face was not mischievous, it was a determined look. So, she wasn’t in the mood to play hide and seek. Unlikely that someone grabbed her, which means she took off on her own. The question is where and why, which won’t matter because it will become the arc of the lost child & how Toni and Brad handle it, and are affected by it as a couple.

If Shannon is in real danger, wandering out in the rain is no way to find her. Bet Dirk, TJ, or AE (who think like Shannon) will be the hero, if there is one.

Which brings up a troubling point— who is Shannon’s mom? What is her backstory? As far as I remember, Toni said she was a businesswoman who didn’t want either a daughter or her flaky brother.

It would be too great a coincidence, even for Luannverse, if AE turns out to have a special reason to dislike Toni’s last name.

If it was in fact only 2 minutes she could not have gotten far. If she is still in the house is in for one heck of a lecture from Brad and Toni. As for the comment she would have to have mental problems to go out in the rain. I will say that I, even as an adult, enjoy going out when it is raining. It reminds me of a happier time. And if so long as it is not cold out you don’t need a coat.

Forty-five years ago, my then five-year-old daughter had been outside for awhile, and I thought I’d call her in. She was very responsible (I thought), it was a safe neighborhood, and she played outside often. However, she wasn’t in our yard or at a friend’s at the other end of the block. I didn’t know what to do next till a little light bulb went off. I got in the car, drove three blocks east to a busy street, then three blocks to a busier street (with a stoplight), crossed it, then drove two more blocks to a 7-11 and pulled into its parking lot. Inside, my little darling was about to buy herself some nice, sweet goodies with her allowance. I stopped her from buying them and drove her home without comment. Inside my head, though, I was thinking, “OK, kid, you’re going to walk to kindergarten!” She did, after I walked with her the first time. (It was seven blocks away.) Most likely wouldn’t let her go alone nowadays.

The Luann & Tiffany thing has been pretty much been put “on the back burner.” I surmise that Evans will get around to that later, after he has featured the other characters for a while. In fact, maybe there should be a new plot where Tiffany gets involved with people outside of school.

Well, in the end, both Brad & Toni resorted to yelling, rather than performing a professional search of the house. They are not acting like responsible public servants! This whole “time treadmill” is kinda spooky. It’s like Shangra La or Brigadoon. Everyone has years and years of experiences, and like Beetle Bailey or Charlie Brown, no one changes. I’d like to peek into their attics to see what their “Dorian Gray” pictures would look like. Cue the Twilight Zone music. Meanwhile, back to Shannon: WHY would she have any reason to hide? She was basking in the spotlight Toni & Brad were shining on her.
