Hm, I don’t know, Gunther. A crowd love to be entertained and might want to see you beaten up. People behave differently in a crowd and will follow the loudest hecklers even if they are against bullying. Your plan can very well backfire on you. Knox might thrive in the attention of a crowd and give them what they want. You need to have a clever Plan B.

Yeah, Knox is so dumb one wonders how he manages to attend school. Also wonder whether he’s some kind of restless spirit condemned to haunting the campus for eternity. What else could possibly stop him from stomping Gunther into a jelly off-campus? I’m not expecting Rosa to confront him and order him to leave Gunther alone, because obviously that would require her to actually have a personality, which she doesn’t.

That’s the plan I would’ve suggested, only I would’ve had some people with their iphones recording the fight to show to the principal later. Faculty can dismiss hearsay, but they can’t dismiss a video recording.

I know it’s been a long time but I remember that the second there was a hint of a fight the kids came from who knows where and surrounded the fighters so that even if they wanted to stop they probably couldn’t. It seems like it was always the coach who’d shove his way in and break them up. Now, they’d probably beat up the teacher too.

I fear Gunther may be too clever by half. As others have noted, a crowd is likely to become a mob and is no assurance of salvation for Gunther. Maybe it’s time to nip this in the bud, before Thursday rolls around.

You’re depending on “the Crowd” Gunther???

The SAME type of “Crowd” who thousands of years ago, watched people get EATEN by Lions? For FUN?

The SAME type of “CROWD” who Nowdays, stand by and watch a fight at Denny’s, do NOTHING to STOP it, but later POST a video of it on Youtube, and then have the GAUL to say how TERRIBLE it was?

THATS the Folks YOU are DEPENDING on?!!?

Good LUCK with THAT One, Brother.

Want Crowd Participation? Toss a couple of M-80s at ’em just before the fight starts.DURING the Confusion, Sucker-Punch old Needlenose, into UNCONSICOUSNESS.

Then LEAVE, BEFORE the Auhorities show up.

Aw, Gunth. You DON’T have to THANK me.

Just be SURE You’re wearing THAT Worm Costume…..,

As we would have if we could have.

I remember how the words, “Fight! Fight!” would draw very large crowds, very quickly in my high school 35 years ago. In our school there were sometimes weapons involved.

Of course there is the option in the storyline that Gunter will “accidentally” turn around, swinging that infamous backpack and take Les out completely, thereby winning the approval of the crowd and maybe Rosa. (she might mot approve of the violence and be turned off?)

Gunther is a harmless little guy with only one enemy (and Rosa, who has lots of guts, likes him.) Students may cheer on fights between physical equals but are not going to welcome the sight of a slimy guy like Les picking on Gunther, except for some like a few of the mean sadistic types who write here. But if Gunther knocks Les down with the backpack again there may be cheers. And surely there are monitors in the cafeteria.

vegasgirl: Coaches always support the bullies – they create them, train them, and encourage them. And as long as they have a winning season, they get promoted, sometimes all the way to superintendent. But it is a rarity for them to know any academic subject.

Score one for Gunther. AND for telling Rosa. It’s not a perfect plan, but he has 1) divided up Knox’s focus…he’s doing it for the crowd and 2) Gunth’s bought some time 3) Gunth has taken the initiative…and 4) this is where me, really named Leslie, would have heard about it from my geek and thespian buds and would have ‘settled’ it with Knox. Maybe by getting him on the football team…heh. Or vice-versa…

Sadly, this forum shows a lot of cynical opinions. It’s as if only life’s emotionally wounded want to comment on a cartoon strip. They want to see Gunther pounded. They want to see TJ put the screws to Ann. Personally, I like the way Greg draws sexy women. Let’s get back to Tiffany in a wet t-shirt contest.

Kick him in the gonads is bad advice because anything less than a perfect kick will only serve to further infuriate him which will result in an even more savage beating. Words are your best weapon – keep talking.

In the cafeteria at lunch, there is certain to be at least one faculty member. And all the kids will have their phones ready to video the event. Word will get around, without any advertising from Gunther. My point is, that Gunther basically has the home field advantage, and he used his intelligence to steer the fight to his favor. And King Shark must be Knox’s father or brother.

The only advise I would give Gunther is to hold his head up and take a shot to the face. Then not cower afterwords, brush yourself off , stand back up and get ready for the next one. I did this to a bully a foot taller than me and instead of hitting me a second time, he nodded his head and said to the crowd around us (that was chanting “fight! fight!”) – “No fight, this guys alright”, he then shook my hand and never bothered me again. G.L. Gunth!

The teachers won’t let that happen, ‘cause the moment that the fight starts, they’ll jump in and save the day before Gunther gets hurt too badly.

You win the battle when you use your brain instead of your brawn. Gunther’s got the right idea. His kind rule the world, except in some countries that have few, or no, civil rights. Unfortunately, it seems that many of our posts come from people who value brawn over brains.

I am amazed at how Rosa’s expression changes from the first pic to the last. I cannot pick out exactly how Greg did this. They appear identical, yet she is scowling a bit at first, and smiling a bit at the end. Comic artistic genius!!!

Not too bright. The crowd won’t shame him. Gunther’s plan for a large crowd will only work if the crowd has few friends of Les and many friends of Gunth. Also, a few luchroom monitors to witness the activities will be of help in providing a little justice for the bully.

Hmm…seeing today is Saturday – wondering if we will see another week of Gunther and Knox? Since this story arc has not reached its conclusion. Sigh. I am SO ready to move on to another arc. This arc is not exactly exciting. I think Greg is rehashing a bullying experience from his high school days and feels he needs to tell the story. Closure of some sorts.
