I find this one really confusing. Why on earth would a Klansman be a Cain supporter in the first place?

The timing is kind of ironic since as I write this, the speculation is that Cain may announce his withdrawal today. Then again, Newt’s numbers are good after all his past peccadiloes; maybe Cain will just wait four years for the furor to die down, then try again. Wliey should file this and bring it back then.

For those of you who keep bringing it up. It doesn’t matter who populated which party during the civil war. What matters is the epidemic partisanship now. It’s almost as if everyone is treating politics as if they were rooting for their favorte sports team! Vote the issues with thought and conscience not just because you belong to a certain ‘party’.

As someone who knows Mr. Cain, as a black man and as a proud Southerner (not mutually exclusive), today’s strip went too far. I will be removing this strip from my list.

History is right. At one time the KKK probably was Democrat, at least nominally.The national Democrat Party coalition included “Southern Democrats” in those days. Let’s call them “Jim Crow Demos”. Politics does make strange bedfellows. But Nixon’s Southern Strategy in ‘68 and ’72 caused most of the “Jim Crow Democrats” to vote Republican or they voted for Wallace’s Am. Ind. Party. And with the changes in the national Dem. Party starting in ‘64, they’ve never come back. Read about the in party fighting at the ’64 Demo Convention. The JCD slates were all-white. They were also challenged by integrated slates who were eventually seated. Now most of thoseJCDs are proud card carrying Republicans.

And now it’s Grand Wizard David Dukes® LA, Strom Thurmond® SC, Jesse Helms® NC. Back in the 60s they probably were Dems, but starting in the 60s many became Reps.

That’s strange. For decades, the KKK was a part of the Democrat party, and the Republican party rejected them. Could it be that Cain is such a brilliant leader that even KKK racists recognize that he is the best candidate for President?

Fact: Republicans passed the Civil Rights Acts of 1964. Racist Democrats opposed it.

Liberals see race as an issue, because they are the ones that are racist. Most Republicans vote based on a person’s character, not on their looks. That scares the liberal media who project their own beliefs onto their opponent.

In Texas for decades, Republicans voted in the Democratic primary and selected their candidate by convention. That way the general election was between two Republicans. After John Tower was elected senator, they came out of the woodwork, bringing Klan types with them to openly admit their party.

Only two former Confederate states resisted Massive Resistance: Gore and Kefaufer from Tennessee, and Johnson and Yarborough from Texas. The House was more disgraceful.

It’s oddly appropriate that this comes out the day Cain announces the end of his campaign. This problem solves itself.

As far as Congress was concerned, it wasn’t a drive; merely a short putt (ka-ching). Notice that I used the past tense; there hasn’t been a rational thought emanating from those hallowed halls in some time.
