Sorry, Fairport, but Obama just hasn’t been very funny lately. Even Trudeau needs something to work with.

Meanwhile, back at the Red Fern ranch, Sheriff Joanie and sidekick Jeff check to make sure their six-shooters are well-cleaned, lubed, and loaded.

It hasn’t been “INS” for the better part of a decade now — it’s “ICE” (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

Liam,Trudeau lets his worldview blind him to the Obamarific comic material – the teleprompter, a President known to utter the phrase “pay their fair share” who hires tax cheats to work treasury, the silly “57 states” gaffe. And other Dem-related comic material, like Pelosi’s all-time greatest hit: “But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what is in it.” GT should have drawn her as a three-card monte dealer.Any bets he’ll jump on the recent New Civility hypocrisy? I doubt it. He didn’t jump on the old hypocrisy, when assorted lefties were calling for decorum while accusing the Tea Party of inciting murder.

A quick check of green card quotas shows that there are 10,000 slots a year available to “Investors”. So, evidently, you can legally buy your card from the Guv. The Prez for Life can shoot for political asylum and have his Swiss accounts as a fallback position.

INS was split into ICE (kicks people out) and CIS (lets people in) when Homeland Security was created. CIS handles asylum applications.I hope Trudeau isn’t too hard on us.

Since her newly recruited son Jeff was an actor in getting PrezForLife into the U.S., Joanie needs to use that connection to find out which corrupt Republicans (AND Democrats) greased the skids, and report the info to Elisabeth Warren (i.e., not to Faux News). .Prediction: Joanie will set her sights on Overkill and see him behind bars. That way Jeff won’t have to repay the $50M that Overkill probably got illegally from the Bush-Cheney bottomless black-ops funds in any case. .Furthermore, Karzai’s brother, now pushing up daisies, was as corrupt as Karzai himself. Whose to say the black-ops $50M didn’t help the CIA’s corrupt cause in Afghanistan in brother’s hands in any case? Doesn’t the $$$$$ ultimately need to be returned to the U.S. treasury? .Here’s where a newly elected Sen. Elizabeth Warren could assist the cause of justice.

IMO, Doonesbury is better when it’s away from the political arena. Politics stopped being funny for me after 9/11.

leftwingpatriot,Interestingly, Day by Day creator Chris Muir cites Trudeau as one of his influences. You can see it in the strip’s basic format – a mix of political commentary and apolitical storytelling.Trudeau has two frustrating characteristics. First, for someone who has a good eye for cultural things apolitical, you’d think some of that would rub off on his political acumen. Trudeau isn’t a brainless hack like Ted Rall – i expect the former to be more than just an echo chamber for the Democratic Underground.Second, GT seems to have lost his old willingness to step on a shibboleth of the Left every great once in a while. Back in 1993 he did a 2-week series in which the president of Walden fights to desegregate the campus. The storyline began in a Sunday strip when black campus activists push the logic of all-black dorms and all-black graduation ceremonies one step further and demand all-black drinking fountains. President King reacts by announcing an end to the segregated dorms, inviting much wrath. (“But I’ve already got my enclave assignment!”) Just about everyone wants King to resign – one of King’s minions sees this as a victory for increasing campus unity.I don’t remember him slapping the left like that in recent times.

Barny Frank lost all credibility in my eyes after he caved on the bailouts / quantitative “easing”. It appears he sacrificed his integrity long ago when he must have accepted bigbux from the MIFC (military-industrial-financial complex, my condolences to Ike, may he RIP). Jack: No, I don’t want to go down Barny Frank’s road.

Has everybody noticed (in panel 4) DickForLife’s (1) cigar, (2) cylinder pillow behind his head, and (3) martini on the stand beside his (or, rather, Duke’s) bathtub? Tributes to Trudeau’s ongoing pictorial genius.

I wanted to name our first kid, a darling girl with blue eyes and curly blond hair, Erin, but her mother my wife, half Swedish and half Danish, would have none of that. Grrr! (Not going to tell you her real name, beggin’ forgiveness, out of privacy concerns.)

Since their client has no money, instead of wasting your time getting him a green card, get him deported back to his country where he will pay for his crimes. But, no….
