Perhaps Jeff will redeem himself by turning the Red Rascal tales into some decent fiction. He certainly has the obsession of an artist.I love the remark about Republicans being affordable. They are comPLETEly in the pocket of wealthy special interests. These special interests own the regressive media and much of the rightstream media, so there are thousands of tea-bagging pawns who gather against their own interests to support those of the wealthy. It is a sad time for America.

I agree. It doesn’t matter if they are “Rethuglicans” or Wussie Democrats – they are all from the same corrupt, corporate – lackey, paid-off, ineffective machine that did away with the middle class and made most of America the “Working Poor!” We can’t afford health care, or to buy a house, or to save money – we work until we die – the end! The American Dream is DEAD – and they stole it from us! It is about time we abolished both parties and started over!

What we have in this country today is a “representative oligarchy” masquerading as a representative democracy. We the people elect the members of Congress which gives the appearance of being a representative democracy but then those elected members of Congress end up representing, not the interests of the people who elected them, but the interests of the oligarchs, consisting primarily of big business and wealthy individuals. Sadly, the electorate does not recognize this and tends to send those most connected to the oligarchs to serve in Congress.

Well, I tried to see the extended interview with Elizabeth Warren, and I got a screen saying this was it, but… I couldn’t make it run. This happens far too often. (Once is far too often.)

No one said, I hope Jeff redeems himself by offering to help this lady, too. It would be a way for him to transition to the real world and do something sorta useful. I mean, we’re still talking about a politician, or wannabe, here, so the ‘good’ is relative. Then again, everyone here might think Jeff is so far gone that he’s incapable of something like this. I would like to see Jeff find purpose in life, in some way. And since all politicians are delusional anyway, he’d fit right in with helping one.

@ Rasczak Trudeau is merely commenting on the fact that it was only republicans that attacked Warren. I know it’s trendy to assume both parties are the same and serve the same master but look at the composition of the Supreme Court and the dramatic difference in positions based on which party appointed them.

We’re all underestimating the American people. Remember, we were the sleeping giant when Pear Harbor awakened us. Now we face a different struggle. Fascism has infected us at the economic top. Fascism is the corrupt unity of the government with the military-industrial-financial complex (MIFC). In Nazi Germany Hitler’s fascistic government controlled the MIFC. Here, the reverse is true. .The MIFC is controlling government via campaign contributions to put elected officials in its pocket rather than the other way around — in the pocket of the people as Jefferson as the other founding fathers intended. .The corrupt President Bush tipped the Supreme Court in favor of this fascistic control mechanism. So now we have all three branches corrupted..We have to redefine the concept of “corruption” beyond just the acceptance of money for favor. “Corruption” may also be defined as fascism. Bush was a corrupt fascist under this expanded definition. . If the sleeping giant doesn’t awake to this reality, rise up, boot backside, and change the way this country is being manipulated, we will go down. .We will become a giant third world country. A super-thin layer of super-wealthy, fascistic individuals and multinational corporations and associated people who don’t give a spit about patriotism or “we the people” or anything except their own wealth, power, and control over other people, we will become like medieval Europe was before the mighty reform movements began. .These were the Renaissance, the Reformation, the Scientific Revolution, and the Enlightenment. Our founding fathers, Jefferson, Franklin, Tom Payne and the rest, were members of the Enlightenment, which was a culmination of the other three Movements. And they were “the liberals” as opposed to “the conservatives”. The reich wing in this country has confused us into thinking that the founding fathers were conservative. Bzzzzt wrong! They were liberal..America, awake! Arise! Boot backside! Restore the power of the people. .(And don’t underestimate Trudeau. He’s clever as Dante’s inferno. He’s using his characters Joanie and her boot-backside son Jeff to SHOW US A THING OR TWO about ourselves, what’s happening to us in this country and what we can still do about it. But Trudeau’s only one person. Liz Warren’s another. Fear not. More will come right out of the woodwork — just as Jeff did.)

How could the founding fathers have been conservatives? It was a new country, just started. It had nothing to conserve yet!

Why do I have the feeling Jeff will be inspired to include “this Warren lady” into his fantasy world? She’d probably be his secret mentor who sends him on missions, guiding him through spritual vibes…

Like Jaga guiding Lion-O (see Thundercats).

You can have a Republican representative for free if you put a politically expedient pledge in front of him to sign.

It looks like Jeff has a giant to slay. I foresee that he is going to dedicate himself to consumer protection and fulfill both his goal of fighting evil and his parents’ goal of getting him out of the house with a job. Joanie is either devious or very lucky.

But if you haven’t yet: It’s boot-behind actor Matt Damon (standing beside his teacher mother! as in “honor thy … mother”) defending teachers against a presumptuous “reporter” just out of Pepperdine (!) and her cameraman. It rox! Enjoy.

Debt IS part of the problem, as is excessive spending. Do you know how much money it costs the taxpayer every year just to SERVICE, i.e., to pay the INTEREST on the national debt? I don’t remember the number, but I recently heard an economist say it was something like the third largest expense, right up there with Medicare. .The Neocon agenda says to the DEMob, don’t tax and spend, BORROW AND SPEND. If anything, that’s worse than what the DEMob’s been up to. Because you can “balance” the budget on the backs of your kids and grandkids and greatgrandkids and …. But if you think our greatgrandkids are gonna pay for our misdeeds, I’ve got some fantastic ocean-front property in south central Kansas I’d be willing to sell you..REAL CHEAP

Does anyone else remember that it was DEMOCRAT Bill Clinton who balanced the budget, in fact earned a surplus, and started paying DOWN the national debt? He did so just before corrupt fascist Bush followed the neocon agenda and BORROWED AND SPENT (“off budget” wink wink wink, as far as his wars are concerned) us into debtor prison.

“The percentage you’re paying is too high pricedWhile you’re living beyond all your meansAnd the man in the suit has just bought a new car From the profit he’s made on your dreamsBut today you just read that the man was shot dead By a gun that didn’t make any noiseBut it wasn’t the bullet that laid him to rest, was The low spark of high-heeled boys”

I’ve heard people say, “Traffic is the greatest band to get stoned to … ever”, and I agree, but they also sound great straight too, and ahead of their time. Too bad Warren and the “High-heeled Boys” aren’t regulating “the man in the suit” on Wall Street.

    Everybody:

This just in from Larry Sabato’s all-politix-all-the-time “Crystal Ball”:

.Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, the independent-Democratic liberal, has said that, “it would be a good idea if President Obama faced some primary opposition.” While no such candidate is currently on the horizon, a serious primary challenge to Obama would further endanger his reelection prospects. An opponent doesn’t have to be big-league to cause a problem for the president. Time, money, and energy would have to be spent to minimize the protest vote in early caucuses and primaries. Any president would rather be unopposed so he can keep his eye on the general election ball..Push for Elizabeth Warren to challenge him? What fun.
