It appears that Calvin has disappeared, and Mom can’t find ‘the solution’. In his wandering, Calvin might fall into the drink. Perhaps he won’t get out of this one very easily.
Calvin’s mom who remains unamed, really doesn’t realize how weird her kid is, although she sometimes talks to Hobbes. I wonder where Calvin is going now that he in invisiible. I’d head to the university women’s change room, but that is just me. Where will Calvin go, since he is only 6 years old.I’m more Calvin than his parents.
Considering what Calvin is capable of doing with a tool in his hot little hands, giving him a paint brush loaded with paint is decoratorial suicide on the part of his mother….
Reminds me of a WWII Donald Duck cartoon: Pvt Donald is given job of covering tank with invisible paint, and also paints himself. Sgt walks by, bonks head on invisible barrel. gives chase to Donald, sees another sgt and asks, “Say, you didn’t see an invisble duck go by here did you?” Too bad the PC clowns are censoring some of these classics.

Calvin’s motives are transparent, also. Mom can see right through him!

The door is open to helping Mom, but Calvin is getting into a ‘jamb’.

Calvin doesn’t want to have a ‘brush’ with Mom, but he’s painting himself into a corner.

Definitely a short-term advantage. Let’s see what happens over the long run. Remember King Midas?

All part of a child’s education. Girls learn how to manipulate boys, and boys learn how to disappear.

Kids certainly do have an amazing ability to “disappear” when there are chores around the house to be done!

I don’t know what mom’s painting but apparently it’s not as much fun as whitewashing a fence or Calvin wouldn’t have skipped out on her!
