I was expecting something deep and meaningful, but fortunately, I was disappointed. This would have made a GREAT Sunday strip that would also have been on arc.

My 60 year old Brother still has his Triang train set that he keeps threatening to start up again. Is Meccano still made and sold? And if anyone takes away my ancient Matchbox Lamborghinis I would be deeply upset.

Brad didn’t go to college so his family saved a ton of money on his education. They seemed to live a frugal life and should have money available to help him through this crisis.

We love visiting my sister’s kids and playing with them. I can spend hours in a toy store. I second the idea of growing old but not up!

Dads hafta `show` their boys how the toys work. Sometimes it takes a looooooong time before Dad can let go and let Sonny play with them, too.

Kids consider toys disposable now (partly the way they’re made). My kids tried to keep theirs nicely (perhaps because they were not spoiled with so many). We had visitors (kids of friends of my x) who broke everything they got their hands on. I never got more than 1 toy at Christmas (lots of clothes and underwear and later school supplies). Nice to see them bond on a Saturday.

The most inspiring, motivating, possibly life-changing IDEAS/SOLUTIONS come when you are relaxed and not thinking about your “problem of the moment.”. He could get a great idea from playing and relaxing.. which could then lead to the job/career of his life :) .. PLUS, it is a COMIC strip! One can’t take on all the issues of our nation every day in a comic strip. It’s Saturday. Relax. Enjoy!

I expected a lot of crabbing here about “hiding from reality:” .In fact almost all comment is positive. Reliving childhood is not a bad thing at times. .In small doses.

I wandered into an antique store and saw some of the toys I played with as a kid. It made me feel kind of old to think of them as antiques, but they sure brought back some pleasant memories.

just had a garage sale, and some of my granddaughters toys didn’t sell. when my son (now 39) saw one of the toys, he said he was so glad it didn’t go, as he loved to play with it.
