My granddaughter who’s three, comes here to stay in a mood like that about once every other week. We figured out she’s suffering from sleep deprivation. She only naps at our house, where she’ll sleep three to four hours, in addition to her usual twelve hours at night. Atleast she goes back home refreshed!

That’s my husband’s philosophy, too–the best way to get rid of a bad mood is to give it to someone else. I disagree though. Making someone else unhappy doesn’t make me any happier.

What an ugly face on a kid. It’s a wonder his tiger buddy doesn’t run away from him sometimes. But then again when I look at him he reminds me of myself when I was his age. It’s a wonder my parents didn’t drop me off somewhere that I couldn’t find my way home.

RUNAR; someone needs to comment on your non-translated Latin. I picked out something about “good tongue” and “dead tongue” but it’s been too many years to get even the adjectives much lest the nouns and verbs. God, I’m getting old. I had to get the dictionary to spell adjectives correctly.

I usually don’t have a problem with other peoples’ bad moods “infecting” me. Their petty problems (such as not wanting to get out of bed in the morning to go to school or work, for instance!) are theirs and theirs alone. If it doesn’t directly involve me in some way, then I try not to let their bad mood affect me.

Now my husband, on the other hand, is a different story where I’m concerned. It’s not often he’s in a bad mood but when he is, it rubs off on me in a “New York minute”, which is something I really hate too … usually because I’m the one he takes it out on (like Calvin just did with Susie … although I’m very happy to say that he’s never gone as far as to tell me to “step in front of a cement mixer”!).

Yeah, jglynn, what a great discovery. A number of comics artists have poked each other like that over the years, but it doesn’t always work very well. This one sure does! Calvin himself would be tickled pink. (Unless something happened to make him take it personally, like maybe a moment’s pause for reflection … )

The H1N1 flu vaccine wasn’t free around here. When they finally decided to stop rationing it, nobody needed it anymore – so they’re stuck with it. Too bad!
