It certainly can be but we never forced it. If he hadn’t loved it, we would have been fine with that too. The only thing we ever told him was that if you start something, you have to finish it…no quitting in the middle of a season. He moved from soccer to basketball to baseball and now runs XC and T&F. I couldn’t make him take a day off if I tried!
Parents have to influence those choices. My son was in some type of sport from age 3, encouraged to play outside WITH us, took him camping, hiking… just like my parents did. It’s more to do with the environment than the technology. We are both in IT but I prefer to be outside every chance I get!!
You’re a lucky man! Sad that most people these days miss a lot of truly amazing things because they never look away from a screen of some sort

I rather enjoy my kids!! If you don’t really like kids, there are other options.
I think we have the grown up Jason working for us now… just as geeky and over-complicates everything to the point nothing ever gets done

Mine went back last week and still won’t get out till June…too many workdays, early releases, etc. Shortens their summer vacay!
Colleges do look at the difficulty level of the courses you take. They like to see evidence of the student challenging themselves. Honors and AP classes
