Repubs would already have the tender out for scrap and not even thinking of a rebuild.

If it’s not a border wall, they don’t even want to talk about doing it. If it IS a border wall, they still don’t want to do it, because (shhh) that would give Biden a “win”. This is the perfect opposite of their oath of office.

Mind, this particular accident has very little to do with the GQP behavior. As far as I can tell from what I’ve seen so far it’s a very sad accident with no obvious blame. If that bridge had been built under current rules, the accident might not have actually brought down the bridge. Maybe. But they cannot even find money to keep existing infrastructure sound, so it’s no wonder that upgrading never got to the top of the pile.

As for our fascist fern, the insult “commie” went out with 1960’s comic books. As for Indy W., I honestly hope you learned something from yesterday. Divergent opinions are fine, whereas criminals spouting lies are a different matter altogether. Criminals spouting lies while being part of criminal investigations—okay, the new normal in Traitor Trump world?

Right wing hate media, spearheaded by FOX “News”, has sprung into action to launch every possible conspiracy theory about the disaster. Let’s see, they’ve blamed “illegals”, Diversity, “Biden’s Open Border”, “drug-addled migrants”, cyber attacks (and the start of WW III), and “liberal governors”, with more to come in the next few days.

Meanwhile, the six known dead are legal migrant who were patching pot-holes in the concrete deck, and were honored today during Opening Day with the Baltimore Oriole baseball team.

And of course we see the usual MAGA freaks jumping on the hate bandwagon. Shame means nothing to them, nothing at all.

Repubs voted against the Infrastructure Bill, yet take credit (falsely) for the money that goes to their area. I wonder if they’re going to vote money for a new bridge. It’ll cost a lot. 5bn by 1 estimate. (Of course the estimation was very rough.

To get GQP support, it would have to be a toll bridge named for their Chosen One, with the toll paid to him for using his name.

Apparently the whole McCarthyist vibe is making a return, including the calling of anyone you don’t like a “commie;” a term, along with “socialist” that would have been more neutral and descriptive if it hadn’t become “loaded” by gratuitous accusations back in the 50s. BTW, most people using the term have no idea what communism even is.

I’m pretty sure the bridge didn’t collapse because it was falling apart and in need of repair.

A massive cargo ship rams and collapses a bridge. Most who saw the footage were in horrified by the loss of life and the economic hardship to the community.

Meanwhile leftists like buddercup were busy figuring out a way to blame Republicans. I’m surprised he didn’t specifically blame Trump, give it time.

Even some leftist commenters acknowledge it was an accident not related to politics.

Other leftists main priority, even before the funerals take place, is for the new bridge to have a different name, as F. Scott Key was a slave owner.

    SPEAKING OF FINANCIAL HEELS——

“My Pillow” Company evicted from Minnesota warehouse, owes over $200,000.00 in back rent.

“The eviction is t he latest in a string of financial woes for the company and CEO Mike Lindell, who has said he’s “been drained personally and professionally”.

Do nothing congress stalls, investigates, holds irrelevant hearings, dodges, evades, and waste time on deflecting on the real dire needs of America! Incompetent POS! They’re still after Myorkas, Biden etc. with NO PROOF! ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Joe Biden could have steered that vessel safely, and avoided any chance of damage to that bridge, if he wasn’t a senile dementia-ridden old sleepy-head who spends every waking minute stealing taxpayer funds to enrich the Biden Family crime cartel, and so craftily that so far not one single shred of evidence proving this has ever been produced.

The Biden administration crashed into and destroyed beyond repair the Francis Scott Key bridge, and the money for replacement of that bridge should come from Biden Family coffers!

Plus all associated inflationary products transportation expenses until a replacement bridge structure is completed and operational!!!!!

paid for by RWNJ MAGA and your God fearing, loyal, proud, and patriotic GOP

It didn’t take one of the Woke DEI commentators very long to demand that the rebuilt Francis Scott Key Bridge be renamed in honor of someone less tainted by history. How about P. Diddy Combs? Hey, he formerly wrote music, and he formerly owned sex slaves.

Trumpies are desperate to blame this, somehow, on democrats, before it becomes known that the company that owned and operated the ship was owned by Mitch Mcconnal’s sister-in-law.
