Judging by the Common Wisdom, I’m pretty sure I must be the only person in the history of shelter whose massive home reno project came in on time and on budget.
If it acts like a contracter, it would take a long to have the order takej, and a long time to get the appetizer served. Then the disappear for days, and you can’t get ahold of them. (I had ONE that was the opposite. Fast, done well, reasonably priced)
Out here in Middle America I have not experienced contractor issues in over forty years of having had all types of work done by contractors. On time and within budget.
You can always go to Cheaper Fast Food, get a cheap meal put together by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing with dodgy ingredients and a lot of upsell effort.
The prospective bride, telling why she is still a virgin after four marriages: “My first husband was a psychologist, and all he wanted to do was talk about it. My second husband was a gynecologist, and all he wanted to do was examine it, my third husband was an economist, and he just kept telling me how good it was gonna be, and my fourth husband was a contractor, and he just kept saying that he’d get to it in a couple of weeks.”
I guess I’m just weird. I would give a person a high and low bid if there was any question about what might be hidden and if it was more than the high bid, that was on me. Never passed what I may have missed in the estimate to the customer. Thankfully old and retired.

Sorry, this strip is being widely misunderstood: the word “contractor” on the sign is meant literally.
Everyone who goes into the café comes out smaller. Be warned.

We’re currently having our bathroom redone; it’s the third job this contractor’s done for us and they’re gems. So exception yet again proves the rule?

It may take from 2 weeks to 8 months for your food to arrive, if it arrives at all.

You think that’s bad? Try the IT Project Cafe down the street.
And when you ask the waiter about your order, you’ll be told it’s 95% done. So, only 95% left to do.
