Nice of Mr. Johnson to thank his audience, only a fraction of which share their insights, stories, and opinions here. I know I followed A&J for years before I dared to do so. As for today’s missive, only Arlo can apparently break the 4th wall. No one else can guess they’re even in a comic strip.
And THANK YOU Mr. Jimmy J for the years of delight you have brought into my like. I can safely say there is NO strip I’ve enjoyed more, year after year, than A&J.
Except maybe Prince Valiant when I was a kid! ;^ )
Thank you, Mr. Johnson for decades of reading pleasure. Became an A&J fan back in the late 80’s and your strip has been my favorite for most of that time. It is the first strip I read each morning and not because it’s first alphabetically.
Thank you, Jimmy, for the years of enjoyment you have given me. And maybe, one day, your Auburn football team will pick itself up off the mat and actually be able to compete with Alabama ….
Been a fan for about 5 years so I am thankful to have discovered A&J. I would have loved to have had this strip in the local paper years ago, but alas it wasn’t.
A good comic strip is like a play. The proscenium is ink and paper the characters are a construct of the artist and his or her imagination. JJ is a particularly skilled producer, director and actor on this two dimensional stage presented to us for our enjoyment. Thank you Jimmy may you have a blessed holiday.
Thank you Mr Johnson for all the brilliant and wonderful Arlo & Janis comics that you have done over the years. Truly wonderful. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m hoping that Arlo and Janis continues for many, many more years. At the very top of the list of only a few comics that I consider to be “Favourites”. Thank you again for sharing your talents with your readers.

You do this in “real life” and they might come and take you away, ha ha.

If as she says, they aren’t having turkey, is Arlo eating a chicken leg?

Things can get really weird in the world of comic strips. “We’re not having turkey!” Nice touch.

Sir, thank you for a healthy, fun, funny, slice of life in comic form. You help me start my day. And you’re correct, this year we’re having ham.

Why does Meg need to say they are not having turkey? Who is she talking to? It looks like Arlo is eating a turkey leg.

The family doesn’t believe, so they can’t see it. They probably don’t hear the Christmas bells either.

Where DID the turkey come from? I didn’t get that part. Was it in Arlos imagination?

I think Meg’s comment in Panel 4 refers to the idea that something is wrong with the turkey and is giving Arlo strange ideations.
