Did she seriously spend $45 for a white t-shirt? Where does this chick shop?

I’ve often thought someone got hold of my card; Wait I didn’t buy this…oh, yeah did…but I didn’t buy this…oh, yeah did too.

The candle I can see, if it smells really good and is big enough to last a while. The rest is way overpriced. Who needs a $45 t-shirt?

Buyer’s remorse. Something I’ve never felt. Maybe because I don’t have that gene or chromosome that makes me buy and then later ask why I bought something. I’d say “it’s a girl thing” but someone would cuff me upside the head. It is definitely a Cathy thing. What was she planning on riding with those boots, which probably didn’t even fit right. I too can understand the candle, assuming it wasn’t one of those tiny ones.

Aaron is saying she might have to sell her yard after all (note yesterday’s comment). :-D

Morning fellow Cathyites. LMB wants to take me on a run on the beach. He woke me up at 5:30, probably forgetting it’s Saturday AND we’re on vacation. Aaron is going for a swim. He says he’ll be back later.

Well, Cathy is clearly a plus-sized woman. If you’re not a plus-sized woman (and I mean TRULY plus-sized; if you can shop at Wal*Mart, you may be plus-sized according to the fashion industry, but you’re still skinny enough to pay reasonable prices), then you don’t realize just how expensive clothes can get. Maybe she shops at Catherines or at Roamans? They specialize in plus-sized clothing for women like Cathy and me. $45 for a t-shirt is CHEAP. That shirt she’s wearing right now would probably cost around $50 or $60, and the dress I just bought cost me $53 after taking off my Catherines Perks discount and the fact that it was also 25% off as part of what might be called a “first day on the rack” sale, encouraging people to buy new styles ASAP. Original price? $108.

I range in size from 30 to 34 depending on manufacturer (ZERO standardization in the clothing industry) and the cut of the fabric. I spend on average $50-60 PER clothing piece, and shoes run me anywhere from $30 for a pair of sandals (in which I’m an 11W) to $60 for a pair of ankle boots (in which I’m a 12W). If you can’t understand $45 for a shirt, go to Roamans.com or Catherines.lanebryant.com. You’ll see what we larger gals go through.

I don’t pay even $12 for a pack of t-shirts, never mind $45 for one. I would however buy a $12 candle, and have often spent double that for a really good quality one. As for the rest, can’t empathize. Self-inflicted as usual.

For Susan, pizza-less for a week (I read your comment on Adam) — L’Chayim. Billy and I will raise a slice to you early next week.

Sad to read just now of the passing of Thomas Kinkade yesterday. Our home is filled with a couple dozen of his works, as is Billy’s folk’s home. I’m a longtime fan, as you might see from my avatar. I’ll leave it on a while now, in tribute.

Morning fellow Cathyites. Hi Mom! since we won’t see you tomorrow. lindz.coop nice comment last night. I always make sure to read at least the previous day each morning.

This is what my avatar looks like in full size, since mine is hard to see:

$11.37 for a scented candle . . . okay, I can give her that one because I’ve done the same thing — especially if it’s a Yankee Candle. But $188.99 for a pair of riding boots? To ride what?!? Her non-existant horse?!?!? $44.98 for one white t-shirt??? Maybe she should have shopped in the men’s department at Wal-Mart for a 3-pack there. Guaranteed they’d have been a whole lot cheaper than that! And last, but certainly not least . . . $135.44 for a (as in one) bath accessory set. When my Mom moved into her new condo almost 5 years ago, I took her shopping at J.C. Penney and she bought all-new bath accessories for 2 bathrooms — shower curtains, towels, throw rugs, soap dispensers, waste baskets, Kleenex boxes . . . the whole works! — for maybe around this same amount. Poor Cathy. So clueless. So utterly hopeless!

Good evening, Aaron, Dr. Billy, lightenup, K.F.G., Susan, rgcviper, gmforde, lindz.coop, hendelca and all the rest of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here tonight. As always, good to “see” you all! Hope everyone here has a happy Easter tomorrow . . . no matter how you may spend it!!!!!

Good evening fellow Cathyites. Just got back into town – escaped for the day so I would not be tempted to work all day like I did the last two. I agree with the candle too – especially if it was vanilla – although my wife had a beautiful strawberry one once that smelled like real fresh picked strawberries. Funny though, every time I smelled it I got hungry!

Happy Easter Cathyites!! And Happy Passover too wherever it applies!!Thanx for the call-out Aaron — we just seem to agree on lots of things. As for Cathy, she must have had a “need” for all that stuff when she bought it (the therapist in me says it was probably not the stuff she needed, but she just needed to buy something to make herself feel better). Gee what could Cathy have to feel bad about?
