Shortly before I filed for bankruptcy, I had this attitude.

And you can bank on that!

Of course Pig, the bank does not want to cause you psychological distress over mere money.

Can I put it on my credit card?

That is why you eschew modern banking scenarios and keep you money in cash and under your mattress!!

Banks = greed = inflation.

Pig wonders how he can be overdrawn because he still has checks.

Pig ‘overdrawn’? Usually Pastis’ characters are ‘underdrawn’.

What do mean, no money. I thougt this was a solid bank.

But it can’t be, I have lots of checks left!

I’m mainly worried about people stealing my identity.

The bank never calls to let you know that you are overdrawn. They aren’t that courteous. They just charge you for the oversight. That actually is kind of stupid. As others have pointed out, if you had the money, you wouldn’t be overdrawn in the first place. It’s kind of a catch-22.

We had problems with bank computer code where an overdraft fee generated another overdraft fee.

Because I haven’t got any money!

Here is my credit card number.

Pig just thwarted a scammer

No worries, Pig will get charged $35 for insufficient funds.

One of my first bank accounts not only charged an overdraft fee, but they also charged $5 a day until I got money back in there. By the time I got the overdraft notice in the mail, it had been several days.

well, that and I have no funds to deposit.

No, Pig…no, they will not understand…

even after they effectively did the same exact f***kin’ thing in 2008 and got bailed out, they will never, never understand…

Wait till he gets his statement…overdraft fees are through the roof today!

Scam caller

Trading one worry for another? Seems complicated and unnecessary.

Sounds like another scam to me.

My son was a bank teller. You would be amazed at how many people live paycheck to paycheck with little or no savings. Also, many people don’t know to balance a checkbook. Personal finance should be taught in school.

Do it the very young newlywed southern-hills cousins way … use a credit card to pay them.

Like Charlie says, “something always comes up”…

That’s like having an overdue bill. They’re gonna charge a late fee. If a person can’t pay their bill, how they gonna afford an added-on fee??

Pig, you may have just stopped a scam call.

My parents got A LOT of overdraft notices. They belonged to People’s Bank, “Member F.D.I.C., and the human race.” Thus the notices said, “You’re overdrawn. But don’t worry. It happens to the best of us.” I don’t know what the fine was.

They don’t care, Pig.

Sounds like a SCAM call to me.

I wish this were “Pig, the optimist,” but alas, this is Pig the foolish….

It must be legit. They haven’t requested payment with gift cards or Western Union.
