As of the first of this month, my employer, in an attempt to keep both shifts from even meeting eachother, (COVID control) is trying out a series of 12-hour shifts! I work two such straight shifts, then two days off, then two more days work and THREE days off! Although we have all adapted (and it’s not bad!) I have gotten like Jeff’s woman above!
Wow, I have to lay off the pepperoni pizza just before bed. I had the most horrible nightmare: I thought Donald Trump was president for the past 4 years.
For my wife and I, it is a day of reduced angst about the state of the country. We are much happier about the future. The world is looking once again at the US as a country to reckon with. Vaccine is finally getting to those who need it, however slowly. That situation will improve with study. Policies of positive action are being put into place. Like the vaccine, given time they will need to be molded to fit the need. All in all today is brighter for us two old folks.
We also are less angst ridden because we no longer have to see or hear anything about or from the former president. He has not been mentioned by name or nickname in my comments since the shameful raid on the capitol.
The one blight on our day is this. We believe that as the US government pursues and tries the Capitol insurrectionists, then Congress should very definitely pursue impeachment charges against the instigator. He is equally if not primarily culpable in this. A stain on the flag that needs to be cleansed.
Of course you realize that “leftist anarchists” is self contradictory. There is no one further from the left than an anarchist. Only a really poor journalist would make such a statement. The left wants government control of everything and the anarchist doesn’t want any government at all. Study your history.
Protests hit Portland, Seattle hours after Biden inauguration
Around 150 people vandalized Oregon’s Democratic Party offices Wednesday afternoon, before a similarly sized group descended on the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland late evening.

Oddly enough, today was OUR normal trash day – with an additional take-out-the-trash-day in Washington DC.

I googled the Portland riot. There were more people at the last PTA meeting I attended, flanked by about five cops for each participant.

The rioting groups attacked the Dem party offices on the day Biden was inaugurated, obviously they are right wing snakes.

I have to look at my watch or computer to know what day it is. The calendar is no help because I still need to know what day of the week it is.
