It comforts HER that you’re not messing up her fine new spread.

Improper priorities. Your happiness should be her happiness.

    Yet, somehow it isn’t always…

Taken to its horrible, ghastly conclusion, this attitude during the ’50s produced the plastic-covered sofas and chairs that we all learned to hate.

We’re shopping for a good bedspread. The Vermont Country Store catalog just arrived. One marked “USA” is $199. Or another marked “Imported” is $119. I buy American when I can, so what’s a few bucks if it lasts 10 years.

One reason we have two twin xls next to each other. Bedding differences. Our room looks odd but we’re finally comfortable.

I had an aunt who all of her chairs had the cushions encased in clear plastic vinyl & not comfortable to sit on. I don’t who she was saving them for.

It is like the people that buy white or cream colored carpeting and you have to take your shoes off at the door so you will not get it dirty.

used to have a friend named Marilyn that had an absolutely beautiful living room… but we weren’t allowed to go in there… it was just for “show”. After that we called any overly “precious” area a “Marilyn room”.

Who puts their shoes on in the bedroom? Maybe a pair of leather soled dress shoes for a funeral, but dirty daily shoes come off at the door.

You also keep it covered if you have a large Lab who likes to lay in your bed during the day!

I’m surprised nobody commented that a comforter and a bedspread are not the same thing-at all. Years ago I ordered a lovely bedding package from the JC Penney catalog. It was $400! I figured it would be worth it in the long run since my mother had bedding that was over 40 years old. The care instructions weren’t included in the catalog. I am allergic to many things, including some dyes so I always was everything before I use it. I looked at the care label to see what temp to use. It said ’Dry-Clean Only"!!! Who the hell dry-cleans their bedding?! Needless to say that went back to the company. I got a “bed-in-a-bag” combo for under $100 that could be washed in a machine-at home.
