Not only welders, Trout. As a (chemical) engineer, I wore them too. Stylish.

    Why can’t a barista wear steel-toe shoes?

I have had a few jobs that required steel-caps; good protection, but not all that comfortable – and if, like me, you’re wearing them outside, be prepared to freeze your toes in the winter……….

I didn’t know welders and baristas brought home bags of cash! Maybe I should reevaluate my career choices! :-)

You have to harvest your own steel toads to make the booths though.

Steel toes shoes on feet her size are going to be hard to find.. and weigh in at probably 8 pounds each. And, with that nose.. a welding helmet ain’t going to fit.

I really feel sorry for Agnes. She develop these grandiose ideas that never come to fruition mainly because she gets absolutely no love or acceptance from anyone. Not even from Trout, her “bestie”. Of course, Trout also is unloved, but she is realistic—and cynical—about her life.

Union welders make decent money and are in demand.

stay in school…. vocational school! We NEED people in the trades a lot more than we need more people making coffee for folks that can’t pay off their student loans they took to get the useless degrees they have.
