MIS-STATING THE UNION’S STATE – {limerick and coda}

The Donald sought to update

America’s union’s state,

but he left out the part

that he’s torn us apart,

thus making America grate.

He didn’t talk straight about RussiaGate

nor immigrants’ fate nor rich folks’ estate

nor an economy not first-rate

nor sub-cultures boiling in hate

nor healthcare’s getting truncated

nor the middle-class plight unabated.

Justice should flow freely in our government, not be obstructed. Justice adds value and should not be confused with political ideologies which, sadly, too often have a negative effect.

The only positive aspect to having Trump in office is it proves all those bad things I’ve said about this country over the years were not only true, but 100% justified.

We fixate on Trump and his folks

who serve him and give him their strokes, -

- while meanwhile the Plutocrat blokes

{for instance the Brothers the Kochs}

advance the Reaganesque hoax

that prosperity comes ‘tho the middle class chokes.

Civility and sanity their thinking revokes.

Trump {who’s mentally a midget}

helps Kochs as their useful idjit, -

- his bizarreness distracting

from stuff they’re enacting.

We citizens just squirm and fidget.

It’s a tough decision for the Donald, fire Mueller or build those 18 holes at Gitmo.

A train load of Republicans from Congress just hit a garbage truck, prophetic, or just defining their performance? (Sympathy for the casualties on the garbage truck.) BTW, this is NOT a problem of “government” rail, as Rand Paul stated this morning, but a refusal of those railroad companies, for many decades refusing to upgrade and maintain rail lines, like the recent crash in Washington state as well. Folks (like congress) should pay attention to what was in those railroad grants, as the corporations have become OIL COMPANIES, not railroad companies.

Trump is obstructing an obstruction of justice case. The Republicans will claim this double-indemnity, so he will be free from ever being charged. The only way to fix this is to vote.

Unlike Nixon, Trump is doing the removal more slowly, but he is still firing, looking for the right man to dance to his tune.

The SOU and Republican reaction to Trump’s attacks on law, citizens, and the Constitution was a reminder of what I’ve observed over decades of working FOR my fellow citizens and hopeful future citizens. The VAST MAJORITY of folks go to work for the government for what they can do FOR people. Politicians get into “governing” for what they can do TO people. (And today Trump and “the right” intend to destroy the environment and entire planet, by destroying the laws and regulations their predecessors put in place to make our world a better place. Democracy is anathma to the plutocrats and their kleptocracy.)

Usually I quote conservative pundits who have complete disdain for Trump, but Maureen Dowd had zingers too excellent to not post: "The first lady will never be as brilliant at trolling as her husband. He is an idiot-savant who plays in the roiling ocean of Twitter as naturally as a blubbery-necked sea lion…..After the Stormy Daniels story broke — about Trump cavorting and watching Shark Week with the porn star and telling her not to worry about Melania, at home with a new baby, and then having his lawyer allegedly pay Stormy $130,000 during the campaign to hush her up — a wintry Melania canceled her plan to accompany her husband to Davos.

Instead, while the kid from Queens was abroad trying to impress the soul-sucking global elites he got elected railing against, pathetically bragging that he had “a crowd like they’ve never had before in Davos,” Melania made a solo visit to the Holocaust Museum here for Holocaust Remembrance Day. This looked like a subtle reproach to Trump for his unspeakable defense of the “very fine people” among the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, Va., and an allusion to the president’s statement last year on remembrance day, which somehow neglected to remember Jews or anti-Semitism……..Everyone wondered if Melania’s rebellious vanishing act — combined with the simultaneous Times scoop that Trump had already tried to fire Robert Mueller but was blocked by the White House lawyer, Don McGahn — was the beginning of the “unraveling,” as one top Democrat put it. (Surely, the Trump unraveling began with his birth, like Damien in “The Omen.“)…….It’s a shattering moment for the country, when many of the institutions that gave America its identity as a smart, brave, generous, fair country — the presidency, Congress, sports, faith, Hollywood, big business — seem corroded and immoral. When we look in the mirror and try to figure out who we are now, elevating a corporate tax cut over our fundamental values is not going to cut it.”

Go ahead and fire Mueller, President Fruitcake. It will be interesting to see the American people totally unified against Trump. A sort of new French Revolution against the Republicans.
