Something about the store’s set Gary off.

    Bore Inc.

Perhaps Gary should pursue his contemplation at another locale. Maybe at the Tiki (if he checks his hammer).

It’s something that will diminish his bank account if he doesn’t run fast enough.

I would not spend too much time thinking about it, Gary. Ditch the hammer and run.

Yes, it diminishes him. Not only in his own eyes, but in the eyes of all the denizens of Ballard Street. (That is, except for those who have been recently ripped off by the store’s new management and their penchant for selling recycled non-operative junk as new parts, and then creating an impossible maze to return these parts for “store credit only”).

Apparently, being the reincarnation of Thor is not his superpower.

Regret. A scene of pane and shattering and Gary with a smoting hammer.

I agree with Farside, it diminishes him…. and it certainly diminishes that poor window.

But I don’t agree with running!

It’s time to confront the manager, Gary, and make your complaint…

and hope you get a big enough refund to help pay for the window.

    Now….hand me that hammer…

I’ll just give it to Sheriff Monkey to hold on to for…. um…. a while.

    Let’s have some nice…. uh…. hot chocolate.

    That’s it… hot chocolate… and cookies.

    It’ll be OK.

    Farside… speaking of your comment….

Yes, I sympathise with those angry with the new management.

Does anybody remember Grand Auto Supply?

They once sold me a non-functional “rebuilt” alternator… and when I returned it, gave me another just the same.

That one even smoked horribly as the paint burned off.

I ended up buying one from a shop that I knew rebuilt them on the premises.

That mechanic told me the ones from Grand Auto were used ones, trade-ins that had only been quickly tested and painted, not rebuilt.

When I took the second, burnt one back, they said I could only get a replacement, not cash.

They even admitted that what my mechanic said was true!

I’d already had a better one installed…. but it took weeks, a letter, several phone calls, and the threat of small claims court just to get my money back.

I wonder why they’re out of business.

Yes, Gary, you will be diminished, at least financially.

In a split second, Gary’s fragile ego was shattered by the splintered realization of the impact his hammer wielding had caused.

What’s more, Gary’s inner Thor now has the store owner sore, and he won’t serve Gary anymore.

Gary, Gary, quite contrary, how does your hammer go?

With alarm bells, hoosegow cells, and pretty bucks, all in a row…

Gary didn’t do this! All the broken glass is on the outside of the store! Gary was simply returning a defective hammer, when BAM! This was an inside job. Gary wonders if someone inside the store picked up another of these defective hammers.

You could have just asked inside if this brand of hammer were suitable for breaking glass.
