Oh Lord….CB was channelling my old man. The only line he left out was “I can read you like a book!”

Just remember Snoopy, being on your own means you will have to chase rabbits, and catch them!

Shame on you Snoopy. You ought to be more thankful for Charlie Brown who takes care of you. I have a cat just like this, and while people think cats are always aloof like this, they aren’t all this way. My avatar is my darling Macushla who passed away in September who was such a loving cat. My new calico kitty Rachella is like Snoopy, ungrateful and unloving.

I remember a similar “Peanuts” cartoon where Snoopy jumps to attention and begins saluting and marching back and forth in front of his officious “owner.”

My mother played that game with me when I was 16. 6 months later I was bequeathed a substantial amount of money. I was able to successfully become emancipated due to her inflicting torture and abuse on me for as long as I can remember. I took my inheritance and have never looked back.

I was unaware until now that Snoopy is a metaphor for some – not all – teenagers.

“You’ve been acting awfully independent lately!”

You make it sound like that’s a bad thing.

One version of the story of Francis of Assisi says he did that.

I’m shocked and surprised that the newspapers let Schulz get away with a naked Snoopy in the last panel!

The original strip from 1971 had a second panel that shows Snoopy jumping off his doghouse.

I suspect this one is a version of a discussion (argument) Schulz had with one of his kids, probably the one his first wife brought into the marriage.
