He was ramping up to a good idea but he carried it a bit too far.

Martin’s idea? Mabel probably coaxed him into doing that.

Martin hoped to land behind the couch, and I guess he did. Lath and plaster walls, this is an old house.

Interesting painting – did you notice yesterday’s painting actually showed a house, fence and yard? Mme D. is worried that tastes are changing on Ballard Street.

Well, at least he was wearing a helmet…although from his choice of activities, he may have tried a few odd ones before helmets.

    I would venture to guess it’s not even Martin’s 63rd best….

    though….hmmmm….

has he actually had 62 better ones?

    Okay… I take it back….

this is probably his 27th best idea.

His best idea, ever, in his life, was marrying Mabel…

who can calmly read a magazine while he wrecks the living room,

smile fondly at his latest endeavors,

then just shake her head a bit, on the way to fetch the Band-aids….

and, of course, the plastic tub of spackle.

Well you know Martin never was the same after that skateboard ramp incident. Scrambled something it did.

He fancies himself Apollo Ono and dreams of one day winning gold in the Olympics.

I think it’s gonna take more than a bandaid this time, I think Mabel will be using the spackle on Martin.

I have to agree with Mabel that this is probably not one of Martin’s better ideas.

Looks to me like the ramp assisted leap onto the couch isn’t anywhere as fun as the ramp assisted leap into bed.

(…um, has anyone called 911 yet?)

When you reach a certain age, most bad ideas don’t occur in the bedroom anymore !

I wonder if Martin got plastered before the ramp jump, or only after

Using the floor as his base and his trajectory as the second part, then following his straight down plummet, Martin has performed a perfect triangle jump… but sadly he may have broken his isosceles. Ooops!

Just a couple of days ago I was reminiscing with someone slightly younger than myself about going to roller rinks with the four wheeled skates like Martin has on. Did pretty good with those, and even did all right with ice skates. When roller blades came along, I borrowed one of my kids skates ONCE, and decided that at my age, and height, I didn’t need to risk falling on concrete or pavement.
