Funny, and they are becoming fast friends, and Tara is driving her own car. I have not seen Luann driving her own car, although she may have a series of arc’s where she got a license or permit. Luannverse historians please?? Notice how Tara has full red lips. I think those lips are comparable, dare I say better than Tiffany’s.

Disappointing to see Luann cutting class for something that could have been done after class hours. And I imagine there will be repercussions, like Luann failing an exam because she didn’t go to the study session, while Tara once again skates by…

It might even be dangerous riding with her. “Oh! Look, Luann! The dude at the bus stop!”

Now, Tara has a new hood ornament for her car that looks strangely like a Chevy Aveo.

Interesting about the safety comparison with golf – I will assume it’s true. I like the way Luann & Tara are exchanging wit. However if Luann & Tara have the same class, they should get together and prepare on their own time. But it’s my guess that they won’t – and Luann will bomb on the following test. Hopefully Luann will get back on track and say no to Tara next time.

Ick. I don’t like Luann being so easily talked into skipping class. This seems out of character. Like Argy said, they could shoot after class. Luann would have stood up to anyone else, especially someone she doesn’t really trust and she knows has already been kicked out of one school.

I assume we will get to the archery scene. The drawings may be artistic and interesting – including one or more new faces.

Tara is very touchy feely. She will be positioning Luann’s arms and posture in the course of instruction. This would not necessarily lead to obvious signals of attraction – but maybe. The jury is still out on Tara’s motives and personal responsibility.

If, however, the arrows were armed with nukes, I’m guessing it would be a tossup relative to golf.

Luann and Tara return to class next time to find out that the professor has scheduled a quiz for that day that they didn’t study for because they weren’t there for the announcement.

I’m sure Luann’s parents, who are paying for her classes, would be simply thrilled to find out that Luann is cutting classes to goof off.

So that’s Tara’s ‘master plan’!  Getting Luann some archery training to help Tara fight off “Boss Frogg” and his cronies. Now, if Tara’s car is a vintage Dodge Challenger, they really can turn out to be the “Flukes Of Haphazzard”. But…if Tara’s car is only a Dodge Dart?….well….

C’mon now. Nobody here NEVER cut a class? 70 degrees and sunny and the golf course just put the pins in? The Cubs and the Sox both have home games today and it’s only a three hour drive to Chicago? The intramural pool is open and the “beach” is fantastic? Never??

This should prove interesting. But, I am actually a bit surprised that Luann has decided to skip a study session for something as relatively mundane (and never before thought about by Luann) activity as archery.

I know friends are important and that skipping happens, but to me, my surprise is that Luann felt a strong enough need for “friend bonding” or “archery” (I really don’t think she gives much of a hoot about archery, to be honest) to skip in this case. I would have thought it would be something she would perceive as a more exciting adventure before she might skip.

I had a roommate in college like her. Never studied, hardly ever went to class. She was straight A’s, always top of her classes. While the rest of us busted it she merrily sailed along.

well, I can’t continue to read this arc. I tried but there is something about this arc that is annoying to no end. You do not shoot archery, you shoot bows. If you have been shooting bows since a child then you talk about bow shooting not shooting archery. The line should be “I’ve been doing archery since I was a kid.” or “I’ve been shooting bows (or more likely Bow shooting) since I was a kid.” I know it is nitpicky of me but the annoyance I get from read this is too much. I will be back when this is over.

Full disclosure: Tomorrow evening I will have the sad task of bringing my beloved dog Pepper to her final visit at the vet. She is 16 and has congestive heart failure. It has literally made me a wreck, and 3 weeks ago i lost my mother -in -law, and now wonderful young woman who works with me just got a possible health diagnosis that could have terrible ramifications. I apologize if i have been unusually acidic. That said, some of my posts were inresponse torally nasty provocation.

t can easily become habitual and before you know it, you’re failing classes. If the student is smart and logical,s/he won’t skip class unless it is unavoidable such as having a contagious ailment such as flu, emergency in the family or such. I had a student – I I taught community college for 7 years – who regularly skipped classes and gave me all kinds of excuses. Time came for the final exam, she came in with a bracelet and claimed she was in the hospital for chemo. I told her she would need the discharge papers if she wants to take the make-up exam. She made a huge fuss and went to the dept chair. The dept chair sided with her – she said “The student is a customer.” Of course the college sees student as revenue and is more interested in keeping their revenue for the next semester. My class got angry about chair siding with the student so they called the ER she claimed she went to. No surprise – she was never there. They asked the head nurse to call the college administrator to verify the student was never at ER on the date she said she was. So the college had no choice but to expel her for being dishonest which is the college policy. The chair was fired – she knew the policy and should have checked or asked for the discharge paper I asked for. To me, Tara is that student.
