That was no “theory” it was a hypothesis that failed. Only female mosquitoes bite for blood and only for their eggs. They do not feed on the blood they harvest. Normally mosquitoes feed on nectar. If Marigold had known, if Phoebe would have looked up the information for her she would have made a different spell, like the one she usually uses. Yes even Marigold has a problem. Nice to have that in a character as it is in real people.
