With the theater camp down – I’m visualizing Fay as a sitter for Shannon – thereby becoming part of the family. Shannon already knows plenty about acting – lately, it’s “I want to direct.”

Unique New York: probably a “Ron Burgundy” thing.

    -

“And The Crowd Goes Wild”: Lots of sports references….song references, too. Perhaps Joe Garagiola or the country song by Mark Wills?

Also, vocal warm-ups utilizing multi-syllabic cominations of words and/or silly phrases are a way to get one comfortable with a microphone or with a stage.

    -

Radio station and TV station personalities learn (some through broadcast or communications school/training) how to speak clearly and crisply and how to handle effective communication in this way, as well.

Are Pru and Lu the only “instructors” at this camp? It’s good that it flopped, since there’s no way that the two of them could have controlled 100 campers!

    “Pointing with Her Finger,”

    “At No-Good, Low-Life, Leslie,”

RINGO ABOUT 11 HOURS AGO@TrilogyELP: Did you go to any sporting events?

I went to a few PEP rallies just for the fun of it and the girls…I went to football games for the fun of it and because I had a couple of friends on the team and who were also budding musicians, and the girls….

We had a school that launched the career of Carol Zeman, who has been on General Hospital for decades, Al DiMeola who was a member of Chic Correa’s Return to Forever jazz fusion group , with Lenny White, Chic, and Stanley Clarke, Bob Gaudio, founding member of The Four Seasons, and a couple of the Goldigger dancers from way back on the Dean Martin show, as well as the infamous Bob Guccione, founder of Penthouse magazine.

Fay helping out with Shannon is a win-win. Shannon will run up and hug her – which is what the doctor ordered. However Fay must be coached in not giving Shannon too much control. Luann understands that.

In interacting with the Luann people – timid Fay could be a powerhouse when she comes up with the occasional great line. Next time Tiffany paints herself into a corner, Fay could say something like, “Tiffany – you’re beautiful and you’re smart. You don’t have to prove anything to anybody.” Fay should have a pair of clunky boots to wear sometimes. It might make her feel a little more empowered.

I’m starting to think that this arc is about Luann’s journey toward becoming a teacher (e.g. in art and drama). She’s a confidence builder and is able to draw a student out (of his or herself). She connects. It might turn out that Luann takes Fay on for the summer for one-on-one coaching and instruction at the request of Fay’s mother. As Schrodinger’s dog said, something good will come of this convoluted set of events.

I just want to thank everyone who posted the tongue twisters. I had a lot of fun reading them to my husband. He went looking for one he remembered hearing thirty years ago.

It’s from the movie musical comedy The Court Jester. “The pellet with the poison’s in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true!”

This later gets changed to: “The pellet with the poison’s in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!”
