Earl! You should carry peanuts with you to feed the squirrel and your problem will be solved.

I came down this morning to discover Hubby had left the porch door open last night. About a dozen squirrels were having a wild party, tearing open bags of seed and peanuts. Waa-hoo!

Opal needs to get up and check it out herself… She could use the exercise.

Around here everyone is as old as Opal and Earl, so we understand. We just don’t know whether the pepper spray works on alligators.

A couple winters ago, the resident squirrels chewed their way into our garage. I learned a lot of unprintable squirrel terms before I could get to the store for a useful way to get rid of them. I scattered a few naphthalene moth balls on the horizontal exposed parts and within days, they left and have not tried to return since.

We have a local city park where people used to feed the squirrels—who lost whatever fear they never learned to have of humans. Then a toddler strapped in a stroller tried to keep its muffin away from the squirrel that jumped up onto him and wanted it and he got bitten and had to go through rabies shots. After that the city posted signs: Do NOT feed the squirrels, with a fine if you did.
