    Should have thought of Syria, and elsewhere, before invading Iraq, and then there’s the worst drought in a century in Syria, that kicked off the revolution.

    There is no simple solution for this problem and we’re too busy bickering over political ideologies to cooperate and come up with a workable solution to create a sustainable peace.

    While what has occurred in Syria is loathsome, putrid, and just incredibly sad all around………If there is anything that we have not learned over the past 15 years, ti should be that you cannot force two groups of people that have hated each other for centuries to get along. Can’t do it in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, or in Syria.

    The tribal way cannot be changed. The people have to fight for it. Not flee from it – though i very much understand why they are fleeing. They just want to live their lives and can’t because of these power struggles.

    Nothing we, the UN, the Arab League, or any other Earthly being does is going to fix this issue. Ever.

    Blood spilled by the Russian – Syrian alliance. Trump supports this. Is Ariail suggesting that the bodies are only Isis militants? Or is he condemning the attrocities that Trumps friends are committing?

    2 URLs (copy each as one line):

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Horovitz_Portrait_of_Ferenc_Pulszky_1890.jpg

    has info and links that point to info about this printed image.

    http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/7878-horowitz-leopold

    has info about the artist (Lipót is Hungarian for Leopold).

    Again, a larger strip image is shown by clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s blog entry for yesterday (October 13, 2016), accessible by the Check Out The Blog! box in the right hand column; so, I won’t point to it here.

    @FinnyGirl from yesterday:

    Because Wikimedia allows hyperlinks, I have been modifying the strip image’s Wikimedia page (if it exists, usually the first URL in my comment) to point to what I pointed to when GC allowed hyperlinks. Yesterday, I pointed to the Catalan Wikipedia page describing the event in the Català Description. It has a much shorter English Wikipedia page, if you didn’t want Google/Chrome to translate that for you. I guess that was too obscure.

    The Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, we have a lot of places where our intervention didn’t work out well, and our continued intervention still is NOT!! Fer instance, we backed Assad’s dad when he killed his people, now the son. We backed Saddam and sold/gave him he chemicals he used on Kurds (through a German company contract, thanks Rumsfeld/Cheney).

    We need to work harder on humanity, which Obama has tried to do with little or no actual support from the “loyal opposition”, and stop spreading the horror that has long been our MIC driven solution.
