Just one more example of damage done to this country by the Republicans.

If you oppose activist judges unless the activism they practice is a conservative one, vote Repug.

In this country we have a free voter ID issued by the Election Commission, a neutral independent constitutional authority, which also severs as an identity card. If Amerikastan wishes to pretend to be a democracy instead of openly being a Wall Streetocracy, what stops its so called government from doing the same?

The whole kerfuffle is based on the Republican belief that the Dems could not possibly win unless some of them are voting multiple times.

I would make a comment but it seems like any rational discussion is out and name calling/Republican bashing is in, so why bother?

My state has the notorious Koback. He is obssesd with voter fraud even though the last 100 years has only turned up was around 4 times. In a rad state my vote ddoesn’t count, unless Sanders wins because of the seedy group the republican have representing them.

Non-Democrats encounter this in big cities on a regular basis.

The ID problem isn’t the main problem. The voting on a Tuesday instead of the weekend, the inconvenient locations, the short staffing of election judges resulting in long long lines, the lack of advance voting in some states (like Missouri), and things like that are the real problems. Of course, both parties gerrymander, although the Republicans are much more blatant about it at this point in history.

I believe it was Texas that passed a law that ANY state-issued ID, EXCEPT student ID, would be valid. And some states want birth certificates, where many individuals are of an age where there were none, as they were born at home due to Jim Crow and other obstacles.

Voter ID laws don’t address the more common mail-in absentee ballot voter fraud. If this were about stemming voter fraud, they would create laws concerning the area where the fraud was coming from. It is interesting that the people who cry about registering guns is against their rights have no problem with these ID’s for voting. Or maybe guns are a more important right than even voting for them?

while doing research for a city election in 2009 i found of the 70 people i know in my precinct who voted in 11/08 were 2 dead people [02/08 and 07/08] that is only 3%

in order to have a case you have to grab them in the act when i found a few months later that dead had voted nothing could be done // in my state mail in absentee ballots must be notarized except military // the above v votes were cast on election day

Oh, c’mon! My local Giant Supermarket requires ID to buy cigarettes & beer…no exceptions. I can see that if you look like you might be under 21, but the card even senior citizens. You want to cash a check?—-show ID.You want to buy liquor? Again, show ID.What is so hard about flashing your ID which you need even to show the insurance cards at the doctor’s office are YOURS? My doctor requires ID along with my insurance cards. The reason…to prevent insurance fraud. Not to mention, I’ve been a patient for over ten years, and they know me. It is now a requirement.

Look South-South-East to see this crap actually happening. With state populations that otherwise are completely sane, except for their unfortunate, festering racism…

My father worked for the Board of Elections in Franklin County (Columbus, Ohio). The ONLY case of “voter fraud” he ever encountered was with paper ballots. A counter totaling the votes looked for a race where a friend was running. If no one had voted for either candidate, she marked her friend.Dad did not say who saw her, but she was marched out and charged. To my knowledge the only GOP alleged fraud in Ohio involved someone who was confused about his precinct after he moved, and tried to vote in each, and a GOP elected official who tried to vote at his previous address after moving once elected.

This is one of the reasons why, despite everything ridiculous about the current GOP, I could never be a DEM. At the core, there is no perspective truth.
