The cure is worse than the disease…

I’ve noticed recently with the long string of disclaimers on drug commercials that they speak clearly at a normal speed and volume; there is no real attempt to downplay the possible side effects. The voice will talk of possible heart attacks, strokes, hallucinations, insanity, and death, while on screen people go about their lives happily, presumably because of whatever poetically named drug is being advertised.One has to assume that, forced to make these full disclosures, the drug companies hope that people will still pay more attention to the images than to the words..

I was listening to a drug commercial for something with 20 side effects, one being DEATH! I put up with the itch instead, thank you!

This one seems miscast. Peter is usually the entrepreneur- I’d have expected him to be the pharmacist.

Why are most of the drug ads filmed in slow motion?

One drug commercial actually tells us..Do not take, if your allergic to it. Gee thanks
