I was at the supermarket last weekend and saw an orange bottle of dish washing liquid. Before I read the label, I grabbed it, opened the top and took a big whiff. I almost vomited right there. It was a sickening sweet smell. When I read the label it said, “Pumpkin Spice Scented”. Ugh…..
It used to be that the only thing you could get that had pumpkin in it was pie. Then people discovered that ‘orange’ food had some ‘superfood’ values. So now they’ve turned pumpkin into lots of things, but it’s still limited to a certain time of the year.
Sweet potatoes, on the other hand, are popping up in everything, and all year round. I do like spicy fried sweet potatoes. But I’m still not sold on stew with sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes. And sweet potato bread is just cake…

Pumpkin stew. Cube and use in place of the potatoes, or with the potatoes too if you like.
