The girls got adopted!!!! It’s 11:42 PM and the lady just left my house. She was here over 3 hours. Long story but they are going to the perfect home for them. Older woman, no husband, kids, grandkids or dogs. Very quiet small home It’s exactly what they are used to. She loves them already. I’ll take them over on Sunday.

Ruth…. Since you don’t go to Ballard Street much, I’ve brought your cake over here….

Oh, my, where do I start?Since I went to Citizen dog first, I knew that a cake was in the offing here, so I went to make a fresh pot of coffee to go with it, since Ramona and I had already killed the first pot. We usually just make a half pot, and then if/when we want more its hot and fresh. Made a huge one this time so everyone can have some to go with the cake!Stel, you make such fantastic cards, and I honestly dont know which one I prefer, but since I am saving all the pictures, I can figure that out at my leisure. Thank you!Susan makes spectacularly marvelous cakes and she outdid herself this time! Oops, I was so involved with thanking everyone, I forgot to post any pictures. And you know that with all the Grumpy cat cookies, mug etc, that its gotta be Grumpy Cat Saturday!

I want to start out by thanking all for the nice responses yesterday. As for putting a hat on Tabby, I know better. My arms have healed from my last attempt. And Ruth, Happy birthday! I didn’t mean to step on your birthday celebration. I continue to be impressed by Queen of America’s efforts with fostering cats.

MountainGreenery Thank you for your birthday wishes yesterday evening! We are going to TommysGunGarage for dinner and their interactive floor show, its all based on the 1920’s prohibition era and should be a blast.By the way, every time I see your name, I think of the old Dick Van Dyke show and remember Rob and Laura singing the song Mountain Greenery. I loved that show!

That’s only three cats yelling there – imagine if the other six were involved. It was time to get up anyways Lily. And at least the fleas are gone.

Wet and Soggy, the best thing about your birthday is you seem to have many wonderful plans, a loving family to share them with and friends here to cheer you on. Have a great day.

Queen-what a great adoption! I know how hard it is to place older cats and what a wonderful outcome-and quickly too. Something that could have been tragic has turned into something wonderful because someone cared enough to do something about it.

Just wondering . . . how did you make all your personalized messages today for Wet & Soggy’s birthday? Is there a special website made specifically for this purpose? I’d really love to be able to do something like this in the future for all my GC friends too. THANKS!

OK- here is story on the girls.

1. this woman wanted to adopt a disabled pet. She found a little blind dog on a website that had been in foster care for 2 yrs She called. It got adopted the day before.

2. she found a 3 legged cat and called. It was adopted.

3. she found an older dog and called. It was in MN or someplace back there so could not meet it and see if she bonded.

4. she went to the big adopt a thon at Pet Smart yesterday. Very few cats (this thing is always 90% dogs) and there was so much noise and such and poor cats were cowering in cages. She left.

5. She went to church (she’s catholic and goes every day except Sunday and Monday) and prayed to find just the right companion.

6. on the way home, she saw the sign at PetCo we put out. She stopped at talked to a man outside with 2 dogs. This was Bob, a volunteer from a very small shelter the next town over) He said there were cats inside and to see Susan.

7. She went in and found Susan. Who, by the way was only running late because of talking to Bob outside. Other wise she would have be gone like the wind by then.

8. After listening to the woman. she showed her the girls. This Jenny was enthralled right from the get go. She asked if they could sit someplace to hold the cats. They sat in the dog training area and the cats just took to her like she was their long lost BFF.

9 She wanted more one on one time and asked if she could see them at my house. Susan called me and set it up.

10. Jenny got here at 8:35 after (another session at church) and left 3 hours later. She would STILL be here if I had not ushered her to the door.

So, today we took the toybox and toys, a jug of litter, a scoop and a couple of things over to her. She had so many questions I was kind of going nuts. Bottom line, I said, was that the cats would decide where they wanted to sleep. Take your cue from them.

Tomorrow she gets the cats. Her plan is to stay in the house with them all Sunday and Monday so they can all get used to her. On Tues, they are going to the groomer, courtesy of Susan and our donations.

I’ll be honest – I’m not a religious person. But she is and said her praying for the right companions led her to PetCo. However she got there, it was a miracle, serendipitous, meant to be… I don’t really know. But the girls are going to the perfect home for them.

@Wet and Soggy. Happy, happy birthday….enjoy your dinner and show tonight. All the pictures posted of Grumpy Cat were hilarious. And the one of the wet white little pooch said it all!!!!! Hats off to all of you clever posters of birthday cards for Ruth. They have made it one heck of a nice Caturday!

Uh oh…..Lily has AWAKENED. She is adorable even with that black cloud floating overhead.

@Susan SunshineGrumpy Cat’s ‘gift’ (in the Little Box) made me smile. Thanks for posting. My daughter’s cat, Emma, barfed in her shoe, 3 days ago. Just showing affection I guess. We both laughed.

Also I would be happy to share some of your kitten presents.QOA, I am glad that you were successful in getting the cats adopted. If I lived near you, I think I would have been interested. Then again, that might not be a good idea. I could become a crazy cat lady very easily..
