I’ve done 4 surveys with the CDC. Each time I got a check for $20. The last one took 4 minutes because I am no longer smoking.

Why is it that when the service is bad you never get a survey to complete.

I have done several surveys for Cablevision, online. The second you answer one question negatively, or not the highest, the survey ends right there.

I almost always do the surveys. I hope someone out there is actually reading them (who knows, maybe they are. the world of corporate is a fantasy world where the normal things you and I think are irrelevant to their version of “normal”). It’s a way to let comments or suggestions be known without having to fill out a card and send it in. Another “they might actually pay attention”, I’ve been doing the ones off the wal-mart reciepts for several months and suddenly the one I took yesterday was asking me if I could rearrange the store what would I do. So maybe they’re getting ready for a remodel or maybe they’ve had complaints and are going to change the planograms for certain areas.

We got a survey from a cruise we took. I noted the names of those on board who gave exceptional service, and mentioned them in the survey. Hopefully they got a raise or PDO, some sort of benefit for all their hard work.

I don’t even open unsolicited mail. Straight to the recycling box! Same with those types of emails.

I agree 100%. I’m sure that is what is happening. Surveys from independent agencies SHOULD be the most accurate.

When I give blood, They send me surveys to fill in online which I don’t mind doing.

I’ve got nothing better to do after all. If I have, I can leave the survey until another day.

If it’s not about a product or service I’ve used, I sometimes mail the postage-paid envelope back empty. .I do be sure there’s nothing to identify me on the envelope, though – I’ve had several that have the survey serial number (!)printed on the envelope.

They survey because they care about your potential future business.

“I hate the cold call surveys; they are usually intrusive, but the “How was our service surveys” are a good way to make changes or give pat on the back for good service.”Agreed. I think the last time I did a random survey was when I got a letter containing the survey which not only included a self-addressed stamped envelope, but $2 in cash to pay for my time as well. I always refuse to do surveys where they call me on the phone.

I had a car repair done by Allstate. A week or so later they sent me a survey. They said it would only be a few questions. After about 30 questions I just started giving them 10’s and exceptional. Then they asked why I was giving them such high marks. In the comments box I wrote “because this survey is taking too long!” My car got hurt, my car got fixed, it looks beautiful, end of story.
