Is it polite to ask Eddie how his vessel was grounded in the middle of a field of holes? There is that little technical problem of wondering where and when the sea drained away. Was it just a really low tide? Did the sea drain into the holes? What kind of a sea captain navigates into a fiasco? I don’t think that he is going to answer?

Just a few more minutes, and I’ll be in China. Those old enough will know what I’m referring to. Maybe even some youngsters as well

Snoopy always had control over his wild imagination, but Eddie, not so much. (This would’ve been funnier if instead of digging “wells” was what they did best, digging the holes themselves was. Of course then you lose the California subtext, but I personally would’ve gone with “holes.” Seems more Eddie-like, for that matter.)
